Щоденно люди прагнуть взаємодіяти з чесними індивідами, і це стосується не лише професійної сфери, але й повсякденних взаємин з друзями, коханими, педагогами, батьками тощо. Однак, за даними численних психологічних досліджень, обман є більш поширеним явищем, ніж правда, у сучасному суспільстві. Актуальність теми дослідження зумовлена тим, що сучасне суспільство неможливо уявити без комунікації, основою якої є вербальна інформація. Проте, не всі висловлювання є щирими. Обман, як свідоме спотворення дійсності, стає все більш поширеним явищем, що робить його дослідження актуальним завданням. Люди схильні до брехні з різних причин, прагнучи отримати вигоду або уникнути неприємностей, але існує й категорія людей, які брешуть без видимої мети. Вони роблять це через звичку – такі особи відомі як патологічні брехуни. Наукова новизна дослідження полягає у комплексному підході до вивчення обману, що охоплює не лише його психологічні аспекти, але й соціальні та етичні наслідки. Це дозволить не лише глибше зрозуміти природу брехні, але й розроботи тренінгову програму для корекційної роботи з брехливістю особистості.

Every day, people seek to interact with honest individuals, and this applies not only to the professional sphere, but also to everyday relationships with friends, lovers, teachers, parents, etc. However, according to numerous psychological studies, deception is more common than the truth in modern society. The relevance of the research topic is determined by the fact that modern society cannot be imagined without communication, the basis of which is verbal information. However, not all statements are sincere. Deception, as a deliberate distortion of reality, is becoming an increasingly common phenomenon, which makes its research an urgent task. People tend to lie for various reasons, seeking to gain an advantage or avoid trouble, but there is also a category of people who lie for no apparent purpose. They do it out of habit - such individuals are known as pathological liars. The scientific novelty of the study lies in a comprehensive approach to the study of deception, which covers not only its psychological aspects, but also its social and ethical consequences. This will allow not only a deeper understanding of the nature of lies, but also the development of a training program for corrective work with individual lying.
