До таких фільмів відносяться як класичні стрічки, так і менш відомі роботи. Дослідження підтвердило гіпотезу про те, що образ гангстера у кіно першої половини ХХ століття став втіленням певних культурних і соціальних уявлень, які мали вплив як на сучасників, так і на подальші покоління. Цей образ відображав складний баланс між романтизацією та демонізацією злочинного світу, що зробило його невід'ємною частиною американської культури. Фільми того періоду сприяли формуванню архетипу гангстера, який став впізнаваним і в інших культурних контекстах.

EN : The work includes 57 pages, 49 items in the bibliography. The object of scientific research: American films of the first half of the 20th century, presenting the image of a gangster. Such films include both classic films and lesser-known works. The study confirmed the hypothesis that the image of a gangster in the cinema of the first half of the 20th century became the embodiment of certain cultural and social ideas that had an impact on both contemporaries and subsequent generations. This image reflected the difficult balance between romanticizing and demonizing the underworld, which made it an integral part of American culture. The films of that period contributed to the formation of the gangster archetype, which became recognizable in other cultural contexts as well.
