Концептуальний аналіз фразеологізмів та паремій англійської мови з компонентом food

Abstract

EN : The work is presented on 75 of printed text. The list of references includes 78 sources. The paper presented focuses on the research of cognitive and semantic aspects of analysis of the English phraseology and paremia. The object of this study is semantic and cognitive aspects of the English idioms and paremia with food component. The thesis is aimed at the research of concept sphere of FOOD in correlation with other components of the conceptual sphere of English-language speakers, which are fixed on the language level by means of the Enlgish phraseological and paremiological units. Based on the key assumptions of the theory of cognitive metaphor, shared with other types of tropes, as well as the achivements of cognitive semantics and the research applied the corresponding methodology for analysis. The methods applied included the methodology of conceptual analysis, semantic analysis, and reconstruction of cognitive metaphor. The results obtained demonstrated that conceptualization and verbalization of natural phenomena are performed by means of conceptual tropes, among them the most frequent being metaphors. The general spectre of correlates of FOOD conceptual sphere revealed was vast and covered many other components of conceptual sphere of the Enlgish language speakers, which are verbalized by means of the English phraseology and paremia. Semantic specific features of language units under analysis demonstrated their being culture-bound, which was obvious in the connotation acquired by their components.

Мета роботи полягає в розкритті специфіки концептосфери FOOD / ЇЖА у взаємозв’язку з іншим складовими концептопростору носія англійської мови, що на лінгвальному рівні фіксують фразеологічні одиниці і паремії з відповідним компонентом в своєму складі. Теоретико-методологічні засади: ключові положення фразеології, когнітивної лінгвістики, концептології, фразеології і пареміології теорії когнітивної метафори (Дж. Лакофф, М. Джонсон). Отримані результати: в ході роботи була проведена систематизація відібраних одиниць, їх семантичний аналіз та їх кореляція з відповідними концептами як одиницями ментального досвіду, що дозволило здійснити комплексний опис спектру концептів, що корелюють на рівні образно-понятійного прошарку з концептом FOOD, вербалізованих засобами англійської мови, зокрема, засобами фразеології та паремій з відповідним компонентом. Спектр і діапазон метафоризації при утворенні паремійних та фразеологічних одиниць виявився досить широким, що сприяло утворенню додаткових конотацій, що виявили національно-культурну специфіку фразеологічного і паремійного фонду сучасної англійської мови.
