The subject of the study is the specifics of the artistic interpretation of the Holodomor in O. Mak's story «Scythe on Stones».
Research methods: analysis, systematization and generalization of scientific articles on the study of creativity of O. Mak; ideological-artistic, problematic-thematic and figurative analysis of the artistic text of O. Mak's story «Scythe on Stones».
The scientific novelty of the work lies in the expansion of ideas about the creative method and artistic work of O. Mak, the formation of an understanding of the place of the Holodomor theme in the artist's creative heritage, in the analysis of the artistic reception of the tragedy of 1932–1933 in the story «Scythe on Stones».
