EN : In the work 90 pages, 7 tables, 11 pictures were used 63 literature sources,
including 14 in a foreign language.
The object of the research is reservoirs, their creation, stages of development,
consequences of creation and impact on the river, and economic importance.
The subject of the study is water blooms due to the regulation of the river by
reservoirs, overgrowth of the bank and channel, and water loss due to a decrease in
water quality.
Research methods: analytical review of literature on the problem of river
regulation, methods of mathematical statistics and satellite observation software from
Esri Landsat Explorer web application, Deltares Aqua Monitoring geoportal,
interactive maps «Monitoring and Environmental Assessment of Water Resources of
Ukraine».
The purpose of the qualification work is to analyze the impact of regulating the
river with a cascade of reservoirs on the river, its inhabitants, and adjacent territories.
The area of overgrowth of the Kakhovka Reservoir, the area of water surface
loss, and water quality indicators were determined. All indicators were determined
taking into account the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP on June 6, 2023.
