UA : Дипломна робота – 66 стор., 43 джерела. Об’єкт дослідження: когнітивно-семантичні аспекти міфологізму у творах магічного реалізму Салмана Рушді. Мета роботи:визначити особливості магічного реалізму та міфологізму в романі Салмана Рушді «Опівнічні діти» та проаналізувати когнітивно-семантичні аспекти міфологізму твору. Теоретико-методологічні засади: ключові положення когнітивної лінгвістики, семантичного аналізу та літературознавства, представлені у працях Дж. Лакоффа, М. Джонсона, П. Рікера, А. Бартса, Т. Павлова, І. Папуші та ін. Отримані результати: магічний реалізм Салмана Рушді виявляється через використання міфологічних мотивів та когнітивно-семантичних структур, які визначають унікальність його художньої манери. Дослідження показало, що основні міфологічні мотиви, такі як космічні та креаційні міфи, архетипи героя та трикстера, міф про обраних, занепад і падіння, цикл смерті та відродження, відіграють центральну роль у побудові тексту. Автор майстерно поєднує реальність та фантастику, створюючи унікальну наративну структуру, яка дозволяє глибше осмислити історичні та культурні процеси, що відбуваються в Індії.

EN : The topic of the research is “Cognitive-Semantic Aspects of Mythologism in Salman Rushdie's Works of Magical Realism. The aim of the study is to identify the features of magical realism and mythologism in Salman Rushdie's “Midnight's Children” and to analyze the cognitive-semantic aspects of mythologism in the novel. The paper analyzes cognitive linguistics and its main concepts, defines semantics and its role in the analysis of literary texts, explores mythologism in literature, and examines the definitions of magical realism. The analysis includes an exploration of mythological motifs in “Midnight's Children” a cognitive-semantic analysis of characters, an examination of cognitive metaphors and their role in the work, and an analysis of semantic fields and text structure. Rushdie's “Midnight's Children” masterfully employs mythological motifs to create a multi-layered narrative that reflects the complexities of Indian identity and history. By blending mythology with reality, Rushdie not only critiques contemporary society but also reinterprets traditional myths in a postcolonial context. In “Midnight's Children” cognitive metaphors play a significant role in exploring historical, personal, and national identity. The protagonist, Saleem Sinai, uses metaphors to connect his personal experiences with the broader history of India, such as his birth at midnight on August 15, 1947, symbolizing the new nation. Metaphors like “handcuffed to history” underscore the impact of the colonial past on Indian identity, while scenes at the pickle factory highlight the subjectivity of memory and history. Rushdie also uses magical realism as a metaphor for the complex postcolonial identity, and the metaphorical depiction of the character Shiva points to the dangers of extremism in any belief system.
