UA : Дипломна робота – 59 стор., 52 джерел. Об’єкт дослідження: поетика повісті Р. Л. Стівенсона “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” у сучасній кінематографічній адаптації. Мета дослідження полягає у тому, щоб визначити специфіку трансформації повісті “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” Р. Л. Стівенсона у сучасному кінематографі. Теоретико-методологічні засади: дослідження спирається на сучасні теорії кіноадаптації (Дж. Блюстоун, Л. Гатчіон, Р. Стем), інтермедіальні студії, семіотичний аналіз кінотексту, а також на праці українських та зарубіжних дослідників (С. Дарда, М. Мельник, Т. Мироненко, Л. Добровольська) щодо перекодування літературного тексту в аудіовізуальну форму. Компаративний підхід дозволив зіставити поетику повісті та її екранну інтерпретацію, виявивши механізми трансформації вихідного тексту у тексті реципієнті. Отримані результати: доведено, що сучасна кіноадаптація “Doctor Jekyll” режисера Джо Стефенсона пропонує нове прочитання класичного сюжету про двійництво, зміщуючи жанрові акценти з готичної прози до психологічного трилера. У роботі продемонстровано, що кіноадаптація не копіює літературний текст, а формує самостійний кінотекст, у якому ключові мотиви повісті отримують нову художню інтерпретацію. Фільм “Doctor Jekyll” зберігає базовий концепт дуалізму людської природи, але репрезентує його у контексті сучасних соціокультурних викликів.

EN : The presented research paper is dedicated to the analysis of Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” in its modern cinematic adaptation. The object of the study is the poetics of Stevenson’s novella “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” as represented in contemporary film adaptation. The aim of the research is to determine the specifics of the transformation of Stevenson’s novella “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” in modern cinematography. To reach the set aim, it is necessary to solve the following tasks: analyze the main theoretical approaches to film adaptation in modern comparative studies; examine the specificity of intermedial research of a literary text; identify the poetological features of Stevenson’s novella “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”; consider the cinematic reinterpretation of the plot; determine the methods of transforming character images in film; analyze the intermedial and audiovisual techniques of the film “Doctor Jekyll” (2023) and to establish their role in transforming the plot, imagery, and thematic components of the original work. This research defines and analyses the transformation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” in the 2023 film “Doctor Jekyll” directed by Joe Stephenson, focusing on the modifications of plot structure, character constellation, themes and motifs, as well as representation of the duality of human nature. The study demonstrates that the film adaptation does not copy the literary text but creates an independent cinematic text in which the key motifs of the novella receive new artistic interpretation. The film Doctor Jekyll preserves the basic concept of the dualism of human nature but represents it within the context of contemporary sociocultural challenges.
