N : The work is presented on 52 pages of printed text, contains 10 tables, 3 appendices. The list of references includes 48 sources. The object of the study: the development of the emotional sphere of younger schoolchildren. The modern world places high demands on a person, his ability to effectively interact with others, overcome stressful situations and achieve success in various spheres of life. In this context, the development of emotional intelligence, which is considered as a set of abilities to recognize, understand and manage one's own emotions and the emotions of other people, is of particular importance. Studies show that a high level of emotional intelligence is positively correlated with academic success, social adaptation, mental well-being and overall life satisfaction. Work on the formation of these qualities in younger school age is especially important, since this period is sensitive for the development of the emotional sphere and the formation of a personality. At this time, social norms are actively learned, self-awareness and the ability to empathize are developed. The scientific novelty lies in the theoretical substantiation and empirical verification of a comprehensive program for the development of emotional intelligence in younger schoolchildren using storytelling, which allows us to expand our understanding of effective methods for forming emotional competence in primary school.uk
