Авторські неологізми у романі Джорджа Орвелла «1984» та особливості їхнього перекладу українською мовою

Abstract

UA : Дипломна робота – 55 стор., 42 джерела. Об’єкт дослідження: авторські неологізми у романі Дж. Орвелла «1984» та їх україномовний переклад. Мета роботи: виявлення особливостей перекладу авторських неологізмів у романі «1984» Дж. Орвелла. Теоретико-методологічні засади: ключові положення щодо неологізмів (Ю. Зацний, Ж. Колоїз, К. Ладоня, Є. Карпіловська) та їх перекладу (В. Карабан, Т. Шумило). Отримані результати: дослідження авторських неологізмів у романі Джорджа Орвелла «1984» та їх перекладу українською мовою показало важливу роль мови як інструменту ідеологічного контролю в тоталітарному суспільстві. Неологізми відіграють ключову роль у створенні нової реальності та маніпуляції свідомістю. Відтворення таких термінів українською потребує застосування різних методів перекладу, таких як калькування, транслітерація, транскрипція, конверсія тощо. Кожна з цих стратегій сприяє збереженню ідеологічного змісту оригіналу, враховуючи лексичні та культурні особливості української мови. Переклад має забезпечити не лише точність змісту, а й відтворити психологічний та емоційний ефект, що створює автор. Точність перекладу важлива для збереження авторської концепції.

EN : The presented paper focuses on the analysis of author’s neologisms in George Orwell’s novel “1984” and their translation into Ukrainian. The objects of the study are author’s neologisms in George Orwell's novel “1984” and their Ukrainian translation. The main aim of the research is to identify the peculiarities of translating author’s neologisms in George Orwell's novel “1984”. The objectives of the study include: - profound analysis and systematization of neologisms; - identification of the peculiar features of author’s neologisms, methods of their creation and main approaches to their translation; - examination of the peculiarities of the translation of author’s neologisms in “1984” into Ukrainian. The analysis of George Orwell's neologisms in “1984” and their Ukrainian translation highlights the critical role of language as a tool for ideological control within a totalitarian regime. Translating such terms into Ukrainian requires the application of various strategies, including calquing, transliteration, transcription, and conversion. Each approach aims to retain the ideological essence of the original while accounting for the lexical and cultural characteristics of the Ukrainian language. The translation must ensure both the accuracy of the content and the psychological impact intended by the author. The scientific novelty of the presented research lies in the detailed examination of author’s neologisms in the novel “1984”, offering insights into the peculiarities of their translation into Ukranian.
