Особливості функціонування релігійної лексики в романі Д. Брауна “Angels and Demons” та їх відтворення в перекладі

Abstract

UA : Дипломна робота – 61 стор., 29 джерел. Об’єкт дослідження: Релігійна лексика в художньому тексті, зокрема у творі Д. Брауна “Angels and Demons”. Мета роботи: Дослідити роль релігійної лексики в художньому тексті, її функції та особливості перекладу, використовуючи роман “Angels and Demons” як приклад. Теоретико-методологічні засади: Дослідження базується на теорії перекладу та лексикології (Гуменюк Л. М., Nida E.). Отримані результати: У результаті дослідження встановлено, що релігійна лексика в романі Дена Брауна “Angels and Demons” виконує важливу роль у створенні художнього тексту. Зокрема, вона представлена сакральними термінами, церковною термінологією, назвами обрядів і символів, які не тільки збагачують текст, але й допомагають формувати атмосферу, передавати ідейне навантаження і підкреслювати культурний контекст. Релігійна лексика забезпечує зв’язок із сакральною тематикою, додає тексту урочистості й символізму, а також сприяє глибшому розкриттю персонажів та їхніх моральних дилем. Під час аналізу перекладацьких стратегій було виявлено, що український переклад зберігає основні функції релігійної лексики оригіналу завдяки використанню транслітерації, калькування, адаптації та приміток. Це дозволяє передати культурну і релігійну специфіку тексту та зробити його зрозумілим для української аудиторії.

EN : This diploma paper examines the religious lexicon in the novel “Angels and Demons” by Dan Brown, focusing on its role in the text and how it affects the quality of the translation into Ukrainian. The study explores the specific challenges involved in translating religious terminology and concepts from the original English text into Ukrainian, considering the cultural and linguistic differences between the two languages. The research identifies the importance of religious lexis in the novel, noting how it shapes the plot, character development, and overall thematic structure. The study delves into the various functions of religious vocabulary, such as its role in establishing atmosphere, enhancing character traits, and advancing the narrative. In addition, the study investigates the impact of religious terminology on the quality of the translated text, emphasizing the need for accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and creative adaptation. The analysis of the Ukrainian translation of Angels and Demons demonstrates that, when properly translated, religious lexicon can enhance the reader’s understanding of the novel’s complex themes, while maintaining the integrity and style of the original work. In conclusion, this study underscores the significance of religious lexicon in the translation of Angels and Demons and its influence on the overall quality of the target text. The research contributes to the broader field of translation studies by highlighting the challenges and strategies involved in translating culturally and linguistically complex material.
