Лінгвостилістичні особливості перекладу кінострічки «Kill Bill» українською мовою

Abstract

UA : Об'єктом дослідження є лінгвостилістичні особливості діалогів кінострічки «Kill Bill: Vol. 1» (англійською мовою) та їхнє відтворення в українському перекладі. Мета роботи: дослідити лінгвостилістичні особливості кінодискурсу «Kill Bill» (зокрема, використання сленгу, жаргону та вульгаризмів) та систематизувати перекладацькі стратегії, використані для їх адекватного відтворення українською мовою з метою досягнення функціональної еквівалентності. Теоретико-методологічні засади: дослідження ґрунтується на ключових положеннях теорії аудіовізуального перекладу, концепції функціональної еквівалентності у перекладі, а також методах лінгвостилістичного та зіставного аналізу для вивчення експресивної та зниженої лексики. Отримані результати засвідчили, що ключовою лінгвостилістичною особливістю кінодискурсу «Kill Bill» є висока концентрація стилістично зниженої лексики. Саме ці елементи формують розмовний стиль діалогів і надають мовленню персонажів агресивного та експресивного тону, що є невіддільною частиною авторського задуму Квентіна Тарантіно. Для адекватного відтворення цієї стилістичної своєрідності в українському перекладі були застосовані комплексні перекладацькі стратегії. Найефективнішою виявилася еквівалентна заміна, завдяки якій оригінальні експресивно-знижені вирази були замінені на українські відповідники, що мають аналогічне стилістичне забарвлення.

EN : The research is dedicated to examining the specific challenges of translating audiovisual works, focusing on the stylistic peculiarities of the film «Kill Bill: Vol. 1» and their rendering into Ukrainian. The object of the study is the complex interplay of stylistic features found in the original English dialogues and their subsequent recreation in the Ukrainian translated text. The main aim of this work is to thoroughly investigate the stylistic characteristics of the Kill Bill film discourse—specifically the frequent use of slang, jargon, and vulgarisms—and to systematize the translation strategies employed to adequately reproduce these features in Ukrainian, with the ultimate goal of achieving functional equivalence. The findings highlight that the key stylistic feature of the Kill Bill film discourse is a high concentration of stylistically low-register vocabulary, encompassing slang, jargon, and vulgarisms. These elements fundamentally shape the low colloquial style of the dialogues, lending an aggressive and highly expressive tone to the characters’ speech, which is essential to Quentin Tarantino's authorial intent. Furthermore, the analysis reveals that genre-specific slang, jargon, colloquial clichés, and the symbolic code of character naming (e.g., The Deadly Viper Assassination Squad) are crucial tools for developing character depth and narrative power, often examined through the lens of feminist theory. The analysis of translation methods demonstrates that a range of complex translation strategies were applied to maintain this stylistic authenticity. The study ultimately concludes that the Ukrainian translation of Kill Bill achieves a high level of functional equivalence, successfully conveying the expressiveness, low stylistic register, and unique authorial linguistic features of the original work.
