Abstract

UA : Об’єкт дослідження: Мультфільм «How the Grinch Stole Christmas!» та його український переклад. Мета роботи: Аналіз особливостей перекладу ключових мовних, культурних та стилістичних елементів мультфільму українською мовою, оцінка ефективності застосованих перекладацьких стратегій. Теоретики-методологічні засади: Дослідження лінгвістичних особливостей перекладу мультфільму українською мовою.Отримані результати: У практичній діяльності перекладачів аудіовізуального контенту; Під час розробки методичних матеріалів для студентів філологічних і перекладознавчих спеціальностей; Для вдосконалення процесів локалізації та дубляжу анімаційних текстів для дитячої аудиторії.

EN : The presented paper is dedicated to the analysis of the unique linguistic and cultural adaptations in the translation of the animated film How the Grinch Stole Christmas! into Ukrainian. This research examines the challenges and techniques involved in translating a widely recognized work that blends humor, satire, and cultural references. The object of the study is the discourse around The Grinch, focusing on its artistic and cultural transformation in the realm of animated films and the impact this has on the reception of the original text across different linguistic and cultural contexts. The study aims to explore how various elements, including humor, idiomatic expressions, and cultural nuances, are transferred in the translation process while maintaining the essence of the original work. The primary objective of this research is to analyze the linguistic mechanisms and strategies employed in translating the discourse of The Grinch into Ukrainian. The work aims to answer the following key questions: How are humor, idioms, and cultural references adapted for the Ukrainian audience? What translation techniques are used to maintain the original tone and humor of the film? What role does the cultural context play in shaping the translation? The paper proposes a detailed investigation of the translation strategies used in the Ukrainian version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, particularly focusing on humor adaptation and the translation of culturally specific references.The scientific novelty of this research lies in the application of discourse analysis and translation theory to a well-known animated film, shedding light on how specific linguistic elements are handled in the context of cross-cultural translation.
