Феномен «чайлдфрі» є важливим для сучасної психології та суспільства через свою багатовимірність і вплив на різні аспекти соціального життя. Це явище, яке означає свідому відмову людей від народження дітей, поступово виходить із тіні суспільних упереджень і стає предметом активного дослідження в науковій сфері. Вивчення цього феномену дає змогу зрозуміти, як змінюються цінності сучасної людини, які чинники впливають на її вибір і як цей вибір впливає на соціальні, психологічні, економічні та культурні процеси. У сучасному суспільстві спостерігається значне зростання кількості людей, які свідомо обирають життя без дітей. Ця тенденція характерна як для розвинених країн, так і для тих, що розвиваються, хоча причини й контекст цього вибору можуть суттєво відрізнятися. З одного боку, це пов’язано зі зміною традиційних уявлень про сім’ю, яка раніше сприймалася як обов’язковий елемент щасливого життя. З іншого боку, важливу роль відіграють економічні фактори, урбанізація, розвиток кар’єрних можливостей для жінок і зростання загальної індивідуалізації суспільства. Зростання кількості представників «чайлдфрі» має значний вплив на демографічні процеси. Зменшення народжуваності, характерне для багатьох країн, ставить перед суспільством нові виклики, зокрема проблему старіння населення та зростання навантаження на економічні й соціальні системи. Водночас цей феномен відкриває перспективи для переосмислення цінностей суспільства, спрямованих на задоволення індивідуальних потреб і прагнень, що є невід’ємною частиною розвитку сучасної культури. Наукова новизна полягає у комплексному аналізі феномену «чайлдфрі» як соціально-психологічного явища, з урахуванням мотиваційних, культурних і демографічних чинників, що впливають на цей вибір.

The object of the study is the phenomenon of “childfree” in modern society. The phenomenon of “childfree” is important for modern psychology and society due to its multidimensionality and impact on various aspects of social life. This phenomenon, which means a conscious refusal of people to have children, is gradually emerging from the shadow of social prejudices and becoming the subject of active research in the scientific field. The study of this phenomenon makes it possible to understand how the values of a modern person are changing, what factors influence their choice and how this choice affects social, psychological, economic and cultural processes. In modern society, there is a significant increase in the number of people who consciously choose a life without children. This trend is characteristic of both developed and developing countries, although the reasons and context of this choice may differ significantly. On the one hand, this is due to the change in traditional ideas about the family, which was previously perceived as an obligatory element of a happy life. On the other hand, economic factors, urbanization, the development of career opportunities for women and the growth of the general individualization of society play an important role. The growth in the number of “childfree” representatives has a significant impact on demographic processes. The decline in the birth rate, characteristic of many countries, poses new challenges to society, in particular the problem of population aging and the increasing burden on economic and social systems. At the same time, this phenomenon opens up prospects for rethinking the values of society aimed at satisfying individual needs and aspirations, which is an integral part of the development of modern culture. The scientific novelty lies in the comprehensive analysis of the “childfree” phenomenon as a socio-psychological phenomenon, taking into account the motivational, cultural and demographic factors that influence this choice.
