Abstract

EN : The work is presented on 60 pages of printed text and includes 8 figures. The list of references contains 64 sources, 20 of which are written in a foreign language. The object of the study is the red fox and the brown hare in southeastern Ukraine. The subject of the study is the analysis of the dynamics of the number and density of the studied species, as well as their sexual structure in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. The purpose of this study was to estimate the number of the studied species and determine their density and sexual structure in the studied territories. The research methods included field studies, visual observations, and methods of variational statistics. The novelty of the study was that a detailed analysis of the population size and density of the studied species was carried out, and an assessment of the sex structure was made. The practical and theoretical significance of the results lies in their use in planning protection measures, economic and operational measures, population management, and the development of an optimal strategy for the use and restoration of populations. As a result of the research, an analysis of the abundance and density of the red fox and brown hare was carried out, and their sex structure and interrelationship were determined.
