Особливості використання фразових дієслів в англомовній художній літературі та проблеми їх перекладу

Abstract

UA : Об’єкт дослідження: фразові дієслова в англомовній художній літературі.Предмет дослідження: структурні, функціональні та семантичні особливості фразових дієслів та способи їх перекладу українською мовою. Мета роботи: визначити специфіку використання фразових дієслів в англомовній художній літературі (Ш. Бронте “Jane Eyre”, Дж. Роулінг “Harrу Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”) та з’ясувати основні труднощі їх перекладу. Теоретико-методологічні засади: наукові дослідження з лексикології, перекладознавства та граматики (О. С. Воробйова, Т. М. Ніколаєва, Н. Д. Дідо та інші); сучасні англомовні словники (Cambridge, Oxford, Collins); порівняння, опис та аналіз фразових дієслів. Отримані результати: визначено особливості семантики та функціонування фразових дієслів в англійській художній літературі, зроблено аналіз специфіки перекладу фразових дієслів українською мовою, виявлено труднощі їхнього перекладу, уточнено семантичні та структурні характеристики фразових дієслів.EN : The research paper examines the translation of phrasal verbs in English language fiction, exploring their structural, semantic and contextual properties. Phrasal verbs represent a very important component of modern English. The study is based on a contextual, quantitative and comparative analysis of phrasal verbs identified in Charlotte Bronte’s “Jane Eyre” and J.K. Rowling “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”, representing two different historical periods of English language. The result show that the most widely used type of phrasal verbs in texts is idiomatic construction which meaning depend on context. The analysis of Ukrainian translations shows that translators use strategies of contextual substitution, descriptive translation, semantic equivalence and a range of grammatical and lexical transformations with the aim to preserving the meaning and stylistic tone and the original-source expressions. The strategies provide an accurate transfer of narrative dynamics. Emotional tone and pragmatic meaning typical of the authors’ writing.
