Специфіка перекладу твору “The Wind in the Willows” K. Ґрема українською мовою

Abstract

UA : Об’єкт дослідження: українські переклади роману К. Ґрема “The Wind in the Willows”. Мета роботи: визначення особливостей дитячої літератури та специфіки її перекладу, опис лінгво-прагматичних особливостей книги К. Ґрема, виявлення перекладацьких стратегій та прийомів як невід’ємних елементів індивідуальних підходів різних перекладачів. Теоретико-методологічні засади: роботи таких науковців як П. Хант, З. Шавіт, Е. О’Салліван, Дж. Леті, К. Фріммелова, М. Ґубар, П. Ньюмарк, Р. Зорівчак, О. Папуша, В. Кизилова, А. Потапова, Е. Огар.Отримані результати: при перекладі дитячої літератури необхідно враховувати такі аспекти як подвійність аудиторії, культурні реалії, звучання і ритм, стилістичні засоби (каламбури, пестливі форми слів, алітерація, нонсенс,оказіоналізми, тощо). Роман “The Wind in the Willows” належить до амбівалентних творів, і для його стилю характерним є часте використання персоніфікації, метафор, епітетів, порівняння, застарілих колоквіалізмів, вигуків, полісиндетону, перерахування, ономатопеї, алітерації та ін. Усі три переклади спрямовані на доместикацію, модернізацію та на дитячу аудиторію. У В. Вишневого домінуючими трансформаціями є контекстуальна заміна, додавання, модуляція, зміна порядку слів, антонімічний переклад. У А. Сагана – вилучення, контекстуальна заміна, граматична зміна, модуляція. У О. Стусенко – додавання, вилучення, дескриптивна перифраза, антонімічний переклад, компенсація, експресивація.

EN : The presented paper is devoted to the analysis of such a topical problem as the specifics of translation of children’s literature and different approaches to the translation of one text, on the example of Kenneth Grahame’s “The Wind in the Willows”. The object of the work is Kenneth Grahame’s novel “The Wind in the Willows” and its Ukrainian translations. The main aims of the paper are to identify the characteristics of children’s literature and the specifics of its translation, describe the linguistic and pragmatic features of Kenneth Grahame’s novel, and analyze translation strategies and techniques. The realization of these aims determined the accomplishment of such objectives as:- to define the term “children’s literature”, highlighting its specific features; - to describe the problems and challenges that translators of children's literature may encounter; - to identify translation strategies and techniques relevant to literary texts targeted for children; - to determine the dominant stylistic devices in Kenneth Grahame’s work; - to identify the prevailing translation strategies and transformations in the three Ukrainian translations and compare the translators’ approaches. Scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that for the first time three Ukrainian translations of “The Wind in the Willows” were compared and their approaches to conveying proper names, realias and stylistic figures and tropes of the original work.
