Переклад власних назв і реалій (на матеріалі телесеріалу «Гра Престолів»)

Abstract

UA : Об’єкт дослідження: англомовний аудіовізуальний текст телесеріалу «Game of Thrones» та його український переклад у форматі дубляжу. Мета роботи: виявлення та систематизація перекладацьких стратегій і трансформацій, що забезпечують адекватну передачу власних назв і культурних реалій у перекладі телесеріалу «Гра Престолів» українською мовою. Теоретико-методологічні засади: положення сучасної теорії аудіовізуального перекладу (Chaume, Díaz Cintas, Gambier, Remael, Gottlieb), концепції лінгвокультурологічного підходу до перекладу (Кияк, Софієнко, Полякова, Черноватий) та загальні принципи функціонально-комунікативного аналізу тексту. Методи дослідження: метод суцільної вибірки, описовий метод, зіставний аналіз, перекладацький аналіз, елементи кількісного аналізу. Отримані результати: проаналізовано 450 одиниць із оригінального сценарію та українського дубляжу серіалу «Гра Престолів». Виявлено основні перекладацькі трансформації (транскрипцію, адаптацію, описовий переклад, генералізацію, конкретизацію) та окреслено їхню роль у забезпеченні адекватності перекладу власних назв і культурних реалій. Встановлено, що найефективнішими є комбіновані стратегії, які враховують культурно семантичну глибину оригіналу та очікування цільової аудиторії.

EN : The presented paper is dedicated to the analysis of the translation of proper names and cultural realities in audiovisual texts. The object of the research is the English-language audiovisual text of the television series Game of Thrones and its Ukrainian dubbing translation. The main aim of the paper is to identify and systematize translation strategies and transformations that ensure an adequate transmission of proper names and cultural realities in the Ukrainian translation of the series. The study pursues the following objectives: analysis of contemporary audiovisual translation theory (Chaume, Díaz Cintas, Gambier, Remael, Gottlieb); application of a linguocultural approach to translation (Kyiak, Sofiyenko, Polyakova, Chernovaty); examination of translation strategies and transformations through functional-communicative text analysis. The research methods include complete sampling, descriptive analysis, comparative analysis, translation analysis, and elements of quantitative analysis. The results of the study revealed 450 units from the original script and Ukrainian dubbing. The main translation transformations were identified, including transcription, adaptation, descriptive translation, generalization, and specification, and their role in ensuring translation adequacy was analyzed. It was established that combined strategies, which take into account the cultural-semantic depth of the original and the expectations of the target audience, are the most effective. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the systematic identification and classification of translation strategies for proper names and cultural realities in audiovisual translation, as well as the assessment of their effectiveness in Ukrainian dubbing of Game of Thrones.
