Функціонування лексико-семантичного поля посесивності в романі А. Гейлі “The Final Diagnosis”

Abstract

UA : Дипломна робота – 58 стор., 7 табл., 35 джерел, 8 додатків Об’єкт дослідження: лекико-семантичне поле посесивності в сучасній англійській мові на матеріалі роману А. Гейлі «Остаточний діагноз». Мета роботи: з’ясування особливостей функціонування лексико-семантичного поля посесивності на матеріалі тексту роману А. Гейлі «Остаточний діагноз». Теоретико-методологічні засади: дослідження лексико-семантичних зв’язків: (О. Потебня, М. Покровський, Р. Мейер, Г. Іпсен, В. І. Карабан, Л. М. Черноватий, О. О. Селіванова, Дж. Лайонзом, Л. А. Булаховський, Н. В. Гуйванюк, М. А. Жовтобрюх, І. І. Слинько). Отримані результати: лексико-семантичне це зв’язок між особами та предметами, що виражає належність або володіння. У структурі посесивного виразу, зазвичай, наступні складові: посесивний суб’єкт, предикат посесивності і об’єкт посесивності, який є ключовим поняттям у розумінні посесивності. В романі «Остаточний діагноз» А. Гейлі ядро лексико-семантичного поля посесивності складають: присвійні займенники в залежній формі, які іноді називають присвійними прикметниками; іменники у формі родового відмінку однини та конструкції з прийменником of, у якості другого компоненту яких вживаються медичні терміни.

Object of research: the lexic-semantic field of possessiveness in modern English based on the material of A. Haley's novel “The Final Diagnosis”. The purpose of the work: elucidation of the peculiarities of the functioning of the lexical-semantic field of possessiveness on the material of the text of A. Haley's novel “The Final Diagnosis”. Theoretical and methodological principles: research of lexical-semantic relations: (O. Potebnia, M. Pokrovsky, R. Meyer, G. Ipsen, V. I. Karaban, L. M. Chernovaty, O. O. Selivanova, J. Lionzom, L. A. Bulakhovskyi, N. V. Guivanyuk, M. A. Zhovtobryukh, I. I. Slynko). The results: lexical-semantic is a connection between persons and objects that expresses belonging or ownership. The structure of a possessive expression usually has the following components: a possessive subject, a predicate of possessiveness, and an object of possessiveness, which is a key concept in understanding possessiveness. In the novel “The Final Diagnosis” by A. Haley, the core of the lexical-semantic field of possessiveness consists of: possessive pronouns in the dependent form, which are sometimes called possessive adjectives; nouns in the genitive singular form and constructions with the preposition of, as the second component of which medical terms are used.
