Якщо людина у своєму житті не пережила війни та її наслідків, а лише чула про неї в художніх творах, ЗМІ, телебаченні, може здатися, що війна – це лише смерть і руйнування. Насправді війна – це насамперед життя; війна стає для людини каталізатором, виносячи найсокровенніше з глибини її душі. Війна може завдати людині болю і страждань, змусити її протистояти власним силам, викликати ненависть і відродити любов. Військові можуть сказати, що війна – це насамперед людські стосунки. Мета кожної війни – перемога. І для досягнення перемоги ворогуючі сторони використовують різні методи. Одним із найжорстокіших засобів впливу на противника є захоплення ворожих солдатів. На кожній війні є полонені, і російсько-українська війна не є винятком. На жаль, тема пов'язана з російсько-українською війною отримали надзвичайний вплив у процесі відносин з ворогом і в міжнародній політиці, що надзвичайно ускладнює процес звільнення полонених. «Наразі здійснено 49 обмінів та повернуто додому 2828 осіб, з них 2681 військовослужбовець та 147 цивільних. Зараз у полоні перебувають понад 8 тисяч українців, у тому числі понад 1,6 тисячі цивільних. Наукова новизна полягає в обґрунтуванні особливості подолання психологічних травм, отриманих внаслідок полону, та розробити рекомендації щодо психологічної допомоги постраждалим.

If a person has not experienced war and its consequences in his life, but only heard about it in works of art, mass media, television, it may seem that war is only death and destruction. In reality, war is primarily life; war becomes a catalyst for a person, bringing out the most intimate from the depths of his soul. War can cause a person pain and suffering, force him to confront his own strength, cause hatred and revive love. The military can say that war is primarily about human relations. The goal of every war is victory. And to achieve victory, the warring parties use different methods. One of the most brutal means of influencing the enemy is the capture of enemy soldiers. There are prisoners in every war, and the Russian-Ukrainian war is no exception. Unfortunately, the topic related to the Russian-Ukrainian war has gained an extraordinary influence in the process of relations with the enemy and in international politics, which makes the process of releasing prisoners extremely difficult. "So far, 49 exchanges have been carried out and 2,828 people have been returned home, including 2,681 military personnel and 147 civilians. Currently, more than 8,000 Ukrainians, including more than 1,600 civilians, are in captivity. The scientific novelty consists in substantiating the peculiarities of overcoming psychological injuries received as a result of captivity and developing recommendations for psychological assistance to victims.
