Особлвості функіонування і перекладу реалій на позначення університетського життя (на матеріалі роману Т. Вулфа "I am Charlotte Simmons")

Abstract

UA : Робота викладена на 74 сторінках друкованого тексту. Перелік посилань включає 73 джерела, 8 додатків. Об’єкт дослідження: особливості функціонування реалій в оригіналі і перекладі художнього тексту. Мета роботи: дослідити використання Т. Вулфом реалій на позначення університетського життя у романі “I am Charlotte Simmons” та пов’язані з цим проблеми перекладу. Теоретико-методологічні засади: ключові положення досліджень, присвячених поняттю «реалія», їх типології та функціонуванню в художньому тексті (Р. П. Зорівчак, С. Влахов і С. Флорін, Н. О. Фененко та ін.), художньому тексту та його національно-культурному контексту (Ю. М. Лотман, К. В. Фірсова, М. А. Новікова та ін.), способам відтворення реалій в процесі перекладу (В. Н. Коміссаров, Р. П. Зорівчак, С. Влахов і С. Флорін та ін.), університетському роману (О. М. Люксембург, А. П. Саруханян та ін.). Отримані результати: реалія визначається як складова національнокультурного контексту. Критерії виокремлення реалій та вибір відповідників у процесі перекладу залежать від жанру вихідного тексту. Роман Т. Вулфа “I am Charlotte Simmons” містить ознаки університетського роману. Реалії у згаданому художньому тексті виконують функцію маркера чужої дійсності, функцію відтворення місцевого колориту, інформативну, естетичну та експресивну функції. Основними способами перекладу було виявлено калькування, підбір функціональних аналогів, описовий переклад, конкретизацію та транскрипцію.

EN : The work is presented on 74 pages of printed text. The list of references includes 73 sources, 8 additions. The presented paper deals with the peculiarities of functioning and translation of realias denoting university life based on “I am Charlotte Simmons” by T. Wolfe. The object of the work can be defined as the features of the functioning of realias in the original and translation of the literary text. The aim of the research consists in studying T. Wolf's use of realias denoting university life in the novel "I am Charlotte Simmons" and related translation problems. It determined the accomplishment of such objectives as: - to define the concept of “realia” as a component of the national-cultural context and to determine the criteria for distinguishing realias in the literary text; - to describe the main functions of realias in the literary text and analyze different approaches to the classification of realias; - to consider different ways of reproducing realias in the translation process; - to identify the main features of the academic novel as a literary genre and prove the belonging of the source text to the mentioned genre; - to analyze the peculiarities of functioning and translation of realias denoting university life based on “I am Charlotte Simmons” by T. Wolfe and evaluate the degree of adequacy of the target text. Realia is defined as a component of the national-cultural context. The criteria for distinguishing realias and the choice of equivalents in the translation process depend on the genre of the source text. "I am Charlotte Simmons" by T. Wolf contains features of a university novel. Realias in the novel perform the function of a foreign reality marker, the function of reproduction of local color, informative, aesthetic and expressive functions. The main methods of translation were loan translation, using of functional analogues, explicatory translation, concretization and transcription.
