Лексико-семантичне поле "animal/тварина" в канадському варіанті англійської мови

Abstract

UA : Робота викладена на 56 сторінках друкованого тексту. Перелік посилань включає 71 джерело. Обєкт дослідження: лексико-семантичне поле ТВАРИНА в канадському варіанті англійської мови. Мета роботи: визначення особливостей системних зв’язків між мовними одиницями, що позначають тварин в англійській мові Канади, виявлення їхньої етимології та окресленні специфіки ЛСП ТВАРИНА в цьому національно-територіальному варіанті. Теоретико-методологічні засади: Методологічні принципи дослідження з питань поля та більш вузького лексико-семантичного поля, викладені у наукових працях Й. Тріра, Л. Вайсгерберга, О. О. Потебні та інших; з питань вивчення мовних ситуацій у країнах розповсюдження національно негомогенних мов, взаємовідношення стандарту з іншими формами існування мови – у працях Л. А. Гаращука, М. Оркіна та інших. Отримані результати: ми об’єднали компоненти дослідженого нами лексичного угрупування ЛСП ANIMAL / ТВАРИНА спільною інтегральною ознакою приналежність до тваринного світу або зв’язок з ним. Це дає змогу включення до складу поля семантично – споріднених ЛО. Нами були відібрані 87 лексичних одиниць та їх лексико-семантичні варіанти, які вживаються в канадському варіанті англійської мови, які належать до лексико-семантичних груп (6 ознак тварин). Ми виявили збіг та розходження у семантиці складників поля, знайшли спільні та відмінні риси компонентів поля та лексико-семантичних груп, на які воно було поділено.

The presented paper is dedicated to the the peculiarities of development of the field method, specification of the concept of lexico-semantic field, its structure and also the possibility of complex study of the field components, particularly in the semantic, paradigmatic and structural aspects. The object of research is the lexical-semantic field ANIMAL in the Canadian version of the English language. The aim of the work is to determine the features of systemic connections between language units denoting animals in the English language of Canada, to identify their etymology and to outline the specifics of the lexical-semantic field ANIMAL in this national-territorial variant. General theoretical fundamentals of the lexico-semantic field investigation in linguistics were observed; the notion of lexico-semantic meaning and semantic structure of the word were determined in the linguistic tradition; the structure of lexico-semantic field was investigated and the main methods of the research were distinguished. The presented paper is also dedicated to describing the processes of Canadian lexical system’s formation. The history of the lexical units’ creation and sociocultural influence on Canadianisms in the particular period of time are researched. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that it theoretically substantiates the current state of research of the lexical-semantic system in English; the lexical-semantic field "animal" in the Canadian version of the English language is practically studied; the etymology of the names of indigenous, specific animals of Canada is determined.
