Дитина відкриває для себе світ людських відносин, різних видів діяльності й суспільних функцій людей. Він випробовує сильне бажання включитися в це доросле життя, активно брати участь в ній. Крім того, не менш сильно він прагне й до самостійності. Представляється надзвичайно актуально розгляд основних соціально-психологічних феноменів, що впливають на розвиток особистості дошкільника: спілкування, взаємодії міжособистісних відносин і тісно пов'язаних з ними основних характеристик особистості - мотивів, спрямованості, ціннісних орієнтацій.. Новизна роботи полягає в дослідженні питання про особливості потреб й мотивів спілкування дітей дошкільного віку, прояву ініціативності у процесе спілкування оскільки це є підґрунтям для реалізації та поліпшення стосунків з іншими людьми і задоволення вищих потреб особистості.
