Міфологічний інтертекст оригіналу і перекладу роману Н. Геймана «American Gods»

Abstract

EN : The work is presented on 53 pages of printed text. The list of references includes 50 sources. Object of research: phenomenon of intertextuality in a work of art. Purpose: analyze the intertext of N. Gaiman's work "American gods" and assess the degree of adequacy of its reproduction in translation. Theoretical and methodological principles: formulation of the main provisions of intertextuality and features of its translation and analysis of intertextual connections of the original novel by N. Gaiman "American gods" and the means of their reproduction in translation. Results: Intertext is an important part of the text, which can contain not only references to the text, but also the whole culture and can affect different levels of the text, which is why intertextuality is of interest to scholars, including translators. Translation studies of the nature of intertext and its translation are built around the issue of accuracy and adequacy of translation and provide different translation tactics depending on the specifics of the text. IIts influence can best be explored in the formation of the fantasy genre, the concept is based entirely on transferring the hierarchy of the existing mythological world, preserving its laws and conventions and the reader can guess references to certain texts only by decoding the intertext. In N. Gaiman's novel "American Gods" the author builds a plot rethinking Scandinavian mythology and transferring its characters by modernizing but preserving their mythological characteristics, which are presented to the reader through images, by using expressive and appealing functions of intertext, by using quotations, allusions and rhymes. Analysis of the PA, namely the excerpts we selected, determined that the translation was done adequately and accurately, preserving and transmitting both the form and content of information that is easily decoded by the reader of both PA and VT.

Теоретико-методологічні засади: формулювання основних положень інтертекстуальності таособливості її перекладу та аналіз інтертекстуальні зв’язки оригіналу роману Н. Геймана “American gods” та засоби їх відтворення в перекладі. Отримані результати: Інтертекст є важливою складовою текста, який може містити в собі не тільки посилання на текст, а безпосередній вплив на різні рівні тексту, саме тому інертекстуальність цікавить науковців зокрема перекладачів. Дослідження інтертексту та його перекладу пропонують пропонують різні підходи та засоби для найточнішого відтворення інтертексту. Найкраще його вплив можна дослідити в формуванні жанру фентезі, концепція повністю побудована на перенесенні ієрархії існуючого міфологічного світу, збереженні її законів та умовностей і читач може здогадатися про посилання на певні тексти лише декодувавши інтертекст. В романі Н.Геймана “American gods” автор вибудовує сюжет переосмислюючи скандинавську міфологію та переносячи її персонажів шляхом осучаснення але зі збереженням їх міфологічних характеристик, які подаються читачеві через образи, шляхом використання експресивної та апелятивної функцій інтертексту, шляхом використання цитат, алюзій та ремінісценцій. При Аналізі ПТ було визначено що переклад було зроблено адеватно та точно зі збереженням та передачею як форми, так і змісту інформації, яка легко декодується читачем як ПТ, так і ВТ.
