Структурно-семантичні та функційні особливості фразеології південно-африканського варіанту англійської мови

Abstract

EN : The work is presented on 52 pages of printed text. The list of references includes 82 sources. The presented paper is dedicated to the analysis of such a topical problem as the structural-semantic and functional features of phraseological units of the South African version of the English language. The object of the work can be defined as the features of the structure, semantics and functioning of phraseology in the English language of South Africa. The main aim of the paper consists in analyzing the structural-semantic and functional features of phraseological units of the South African version of the English language. It determined the accomplishment of such objectives as: – generalization of the main provisions of the theory of phraseology, to outline the range of modern problems; consider the relationship between language and culture; – consideration of phraseological units of the South African variant of the English language in terms of their origin; explore features of their structure, semantics and functioning. The paper summarizes the theoretical foundations of the study of phraseological units, clarifies the criteria for their classification, considers methods of research of phraseological units, characterizes modern approaches to their study. The work also contains histories, factors and sources of phraseology of the South African version of the English language, analysis of their structural-semantic and functional features. The scientific novelty of the presented research is that for the first time a comprehensive analysis of the phraseology of the South African version of the English language is presented.

Мета роботи: аналіз структурно-семантичних та функційних особливостей фразеологічних одиниць південноафриканського варіанту англійської мови. Теоретико-методологічні засади: ключові положення теорії дискурсу, розроблені в лінгвістиці (П. Серіо, Е. Бенвеніст, Н. Арутюнова, Е. Істгоуп та ін.) та літературознавстві (П. де Ман, В. Тюпа, Т. Михед, І. Папуша та ін.). Отримані результати: чинниками формування структурно-семантичних особливостей фразеології АПАР та її функціонування виявилися: соціолінгвістичний фактор, вплив неоднорідності англійської мови в ПАР, які функціонує як система варіантів, вплив особливостей географічного та культурного середовища ПАР, економічний стан країни, суспільно-політичні процеси, багаторасовий склад південноафриканського суспільства, мультилінгвізм тощо. Тематичною різноманітністю складників фразеологізмів АПАР є позначення кольорів, тварин, птахів, рослин, політичних реалій, етноніми тощо. Граматично домінуючий компонент є дієслово. До функцій, що виконує фразеологізми, слід віднести наступні: оцінну, гумористичну, етнічну, функцію увиразнення мовлення, емоційно-експресивну.
