Abstract

EN : The work is presented on 69 pages of printed text. The list of references includes 73 sources. The presented work is devoted to the analysis of I. Welsh novel "Trainspotting". The main aim of the paper is in linguistic and cultural characteristics of the dialect of Great Britain on the example of the protagonist of the novel "Trainspotting ". The results obtained: formulated our own definition of "dialect", clarified the history of the formation of dialects in Britain, of which there are currently about 11 and describes them. Varieties of non-literary vocabulary (slang, slang, slang, professionalisms and dialectics) have been studied. The purpose of the authors' use of dialectics in fiction is outlined. The concept of linguistic personality is formed, its content is investigated. A general description of Irwin Welsh's novel On the Needle is a work of counterculture whose central theme is Scottish society and its self-consciousness in the late 1980s. The languages and dialects used in the works are determined and the linguistic and sociocultural characteristics of the main character Mark Renton are given. The scientific novelty of the presented research due to the possibility of using the results in teaching such normative courses as general linguistics, English stylistics, history of English, lexicology, and special courses in English dialectology.

Отримані результати: сформульовано власне визначення «діалекту», з’ясовано історію формування діалектів на теренах Великобританії, яких наразі існує близько 11 та описано їх. Досліджено різновиди нелітературної лексики (сленг, жаргон, арго, професіоналізми та діалектизми). Окреслено мету використання авторами діалектизмів у художній літературі. Сформульовано поняття мовної особистості, досліджено, в чому полягає його зміст (виділено 4 іпостасі і 3 рівні). Надано загальну характеристику роману «На голці» Ірвіна Уелша, який є твором контркультури, центральною темою якого виступає шотландське суспільство та його самосвідомість у кінці 1980 років. Визначено, які мови та діалекти використовуються у творі та надано лінгвосоціокультурну характеристику головному герою Марку Рентону.
