Актуальність дослідження образу фізичного Я обумовлена тим, що в сучасному стандарті успішної особистості тілесна краса займає одне з лідируючих місць. На свідомість багатьох жінок чинять сильний вплив стереотипні уявлення про фізично розвинене гарне тіло, що має певні пропорції і форми; в свідомості більшості штучно завищується значущість зовнішності, незалежно від соціальної ролі і статусу носія. Оформлення зовнішності під заданий суспільством стандарт стає більш значущим, ніж фізична даність зі своїми конституціональними і функціональними особливостями, які часто йдуть врозріз з соціокультурними вимогами краси. Незадоволеність зовнішністю поширюється настільки, що стає властивою не тільки особам з реальними дефектами зовнішності і людям зрілого віку, але і більш молодому населенню, несучи потенційну загрозу фізичному і психічному здоров'ю. Наукова новизна роботи полягає в тому, що був полягають у тому, що: - обґрунтовано та досліджено особистісні умови задоволеності образом фізичного Я у жінок раннього дорослого віку;- розширено, уточнено та доповнено вивчення наступних особистісних утворень: образ фізичного Я, задоволеність образом фізичного Я, перфекціонізм, психологічне благополуччя особистості, ставлення до себе;- набуло подальшого розвитку вивчення феномену фізичного образу Я, знання про особливості розвитку Я-концепції особистості в ранньому дорослому віці”.

The relevance of the study of the image of the physical self is due to the fact that in the modern standard of successful personality physical beauty occupies one of the leading places. The consciousness of many women is strongly influenced by stereotypes about a physically developed beautiful body that has certain proportions and shapes; in the minds of most artificially overestimated the importance of appearance, regardless of social role and status of the bearer. The design of the appearance under the standard set by society becomes more important than the physical fact with its constitutional and functional features, which often run counter to the socio-cultural requirements of beauty. Dissatisfaction with appearance is so widespread that it becomes characteristic not only of people with real defects in appearance and the elderly, but also the younger population, posing a potential threat to physical and mental health. The scientific novelty of the work is that it was that: - substantiated and studied the personal conditions of satisfaction with the image of the physical self in young adults - expanded, clarified and supplemented the study of the following personal formations: image of the physical self , perfectionism, psychological well-being of the individual, attitude to oneself.
