Когнітивно-поетологічні особливості зображення пейзажу в образно-наративній структурі роману В. Ґолдінґа "Lord of the Flies"

Abstract

EN : The work is presented on 79 pages of printed text. The list of references includes 65 sources. The paper presented focuses on the research of cognitive-poetic analysis of natural landscape representation in imagery and narrative structure of W. Golding’s literary texts. The object of this study is imagery and narrative interpretation of natural phenomena in literary prose of William Golding. It is aimed at the research of specific features of imagery and narrative interpretation of natural phenomena and landscape in literary prose of William Golding as the representative of the XX century, interpreted through the prism of characteristic aspects of the epoch. Based on the key assumptions of the theory of cognitive metaphor, shared to other types of tropes, as well as the achivements of cognitive semantics and cognitive poetics, the research applied the corresponding methodology for analysis. The results obtained demonstrated that conceptualization and verbalization of natural phenomena is performed my means of conceptual tropes, among them the most frequent being metaphor, metonymy and their combitaion – metaphtonymy, and insignification amount of oxymorons. Some imagery means are developped into literary symbols. The general spectre of correlates selected by the author for imagery interpretation of natural phenomena of the landscape as source domain as well as referents as target domains belongs to artifacts and destructive phenomena of civilization. Dominating quantity of imagery conceptualization means from the point of view of their axiological aspects belongs to negative, stipulated by the specifically tragic perception as a result of catastrophic events of the epoch.

Мета роботи: вивчення образних засобів репрезентації пейзажу в художньому тексті в ракурсі когнітивної поетики. Теоретико-методологічні засади: ключові положення теорії когнітивної метафори, розповсюджені на вивченння інших тропів (Дж. Лакофф, М. Джонсон, З. Кевечеш та ін.) та когнітивної поетики (О. П. Воробйова, Л. І. Бєлєхова, та ін.). Отримані результати: Спостереження над процесами формування художньої образності в творі В. Ґолдінга, що здійснювались за допомогою застосування методів семантико-когнітивного аналізу, ключовим етапом якого є реконструювання концептуальних тропів в тексті, дозволив виявити способи утворення художніх образів, встановити метафоричний діапазон образності художнього твору В. Ґолдінга “Lord of the Flies” (перелік метафоричних корелятів) і спектр (перелік референтних сутностей), і, таким чином, окреслити концептуальний простір образного коду в аналізованому художньому тексті. Когнітивні механізми, за рахунок яких відбувається образна інтерпретація, включають переважно аналогові (метафору) та асоціативні (метонімія) – випадки перенесення найменування за суміжністю або асоціацією між об’єктами. Серед засобів формування образного простору художнього твору В. Ґолдінга спостерігаються також випадки утворення художніх символів.
