Abstract

EN : The work is presented on 62 pages of printed text. The list of references includes 86 sources. The presented paper is dedicated to the analysis of such a topical problem as the intertextual dialogue between the neo-Victorian text and its Victorian sources. The object of the work can be defined as the specifics of the functioning of the phenomenon of intertextuality in the neo-Victorian text. The main aim of the paper consists of analyzing the functions and ways of implementing the neo-Victorian reinterpretation of the concepts and traditions depicted in classic examples of Victorian literature by means of intertextual studies in the novel “Florence and Giles” by J. Harding. It determined the accomplishment of such objectives as: 1) clarify the problems of definitions of intertextual interaction; 2) analyze the historical development and conceptual apparatus of the theory of intertextuality; 3) identify intertextuality as a component of the aesthetic of postmodern writing; 4) determine the conceptual basis of the novel by highlighting the intertextual levels of G. Genette in the text (hypertextuality, architextuality, metatextuality). The theoretical basis included in the work were the key notions of the theory of intertextuality (R. Barthes, M. Bakhtin, G. Genette, Y. Kristeva, V. Prosalova) and neo-Victorian studies (S. Dinter, O. V. Tupakhina). The scientific novelty of the presented research lies in a comprehensive analysis of J. Harding's novel “Florence and Giles” in the context of the functioning of the phenomenon of intertextuality in the neo-Victorian text.

Мета роботи: вивчення способів та функціоналу постмодерністського переосмислення вікторіанських концептів та наративних технік засобами інтертекстуальної взаємодії з претекстом на матеріалі роману Дж. Хардінга «Флоренс і Джайлз». Теоретико-методологічні засади: ключові положення теорії інтертекстуальності (Р. Барт, М. Бахтін, Ж. Женетт, Ю. Крістєва, В. Просалова) та неовікторіанських студій (С. Дінтер, О. В. Тупахіна). Отримані результати: На прикладі одного з найпоказовіших взірців «неовікторіанського роману» ХХІ ст., «Флоренс і Джайлз» Дж. Хардінга, було продемонстровано взаємодію постмодерністської художньої свідомості з вікторіанським претекстом на гіпертекстуальному (через пародіювання образів, сюжету, хронотопу та мотивів претексту), архітекстуальному (через запозичення жанрових моделей) та метатекстуальному (через апеляцію до зовнішніх критичних прочитань) рівні. Через застосування художніх прийомів постмодернізму (подвійного кодування, гри з текстом і читацькими очікуваннями, деконструкції усталених канонів) до інтерпретації претексту здійснюється критична ревізія засадничих ідей вікторіанської доби, таких, як концепти дитини й дорослого, фемінності й маскулінності тощо.
