Інтермедіальне перекодування роману В. Скотта "Квентін Довард" у кінематографі

Abstract

EN : The work is presented on 51 pages of printed text. The list of references includes 50 sources. The presented paper is dedicated to the analysis of the intermedial transcoding of W. Scott's novel “Quentin Durward" in the cinema The object of the work research is an intermedial dialogue ofcinematography and literature. The main aim of the work is to compare Richard Thorpe’s screen version of Walter Scott's novel “Quentin Durward”, 1823 with the literary primary source to find out the features of the transformation of the original text on the screen. It determined the accomplishment of such objectives as: - define the concepts of intermediality and screen adaptation; - analyze the abovementioned concepts; - find out the basic features of Walter Scott's historical novel; - compare the film “Quentin Durward” by Richard Thorpe with the book of the same name by Walter Scott to define specificity of intermediary transformations. The intermedial analysis proves that when the text of the novel "Quentin Durward" by Walter Scott was transferred to the screen by the director Richard Thorpe, a number of transformations were carried out at the plot, image and stylistic levels. The reproduction of the main storyline contributed to the depiction of the main idea of the work. The changes that were made at the level of plot, images and motives did not resulted in distortion of this text, but were only caused by the artistic intentions of the author, as well as the requirements of the film text. According to Linda Hutcheon's classification, the screen adaptation of the novel can be defined as an analogue that conveys the spirit of the original source while making minor changes to it.

Мета роботи полягає у тому, щоб шляхом зіставлення екранізації роману Вальтера Скотта «Квентін Дорвард» Річардом Торпом з його літературним першоджерелом з’ясувати особливості трансформації вихідного тексту при його перенесенні на екран. Теоретико-методологічні засади: ключові положення теорії інтермедіальності (Д. Наливайко, О. Дубініної, О. Бровко), а також теорії екранізації (Л. Гатчеон, Р. Стам, Б. Шеперд), і дослідження літературознавців з проблем творчості В. Скотта (Б. М. Жачемукова, С. Орлов, Г. Лукач) та ін. Отримані результати: в ході здійсненого порівняльного інтермедіального аналізу було з’ясовано, що при переносі тексту роману «Квентін Дорвард» Вальтера Скотта на екран режисером Річардом Торпом було здійснено ряд трансформацій на сюжетному, образному та стилістичному рівнях. Зокрема, відтворення основної сюжетної лінії сприяло зображенню основної ідеї твору. Зміни, які внесені на рівні сюжету, образів та мотивів, не призвели до спотворення цього тексту, а лише були викликані мистецькими інтенціями автора, а також вимогами кінотексту. За класифікацією Лінди Гатчеон, екранізація роману «Квентін Дорвард» Р. Торпом може бути класифікована як аналог, адже вносячи незначні зміни, кіномитці передають дух першоджерела, роблять його більш цікавим сучасному реципієнту.
