Семантична деривація як спосіб поповнення словникового складу діалектів Англії

Abstract

EN : The wirk is presented on 51 pages of printed text. The list of references includes 69 sources. The presented paper is devoted to the study of the semantic characteristics of word formation in the Northumbrian dialect. The object of research is the lexical units of the Northumbrian dialect, which have undergone semantic changes since the 19th - 21st centuries.. The main aim of the paper is a linguistic analysis of the lexical units of the dictionary of the Northumbrian dialect, derived in a semantic way. It determined the accomplishment of such objectives as: 1) reveal the essence of the concept of "semantic derivation"; 2) reveal the peculiarity of the development of the lexical system of dialects in comparison with the literary language; 3) to identify the most productive types of semantic derivation that are inherent in the lexical system in the modern Northumbrian dialect; Semantic derivation is the creation of new semes from one source word. The process of developing a new semantic meaning most often occurs with the help of metaphorical and metonymic transfer of meaning, concretization, generalization, pejoration and amelioration. Dialects share the mechanisms and trends of vocabulary development with the literary language, but also differ from it. In addition, it is generally known that the evolution of the literary language is usually due to the influence of marginal forms of language existence, which also include dialects. During the study of the semantic development of the lexical units of the Northumbrian dialect, productive ways of its development were discovered.. The scientific novelty consists in determining the most relevant and productive models of semantic derivation in modern English dialects, based on the material of the Northumbrian dialect, which, despite the influence of time and language policy, remains an active form of communication.

Мета роботи: виявлення, систематизація та опис механізмів семантичної деривації у нортумбрійському діалекті, визначення найбільш продуктивних моделей семантичних змін в словниковому складі нортумбрійського діалекту протягом XIX – XXI століття. Теоретико-методологічні засади: дослідженням семантичної деривації займались: М. Бреаль, К. Райзинг, О. О. Потребня, Г. Пауль та інші. Розглядом особливостей діалекту займались: П. Традгіл, Д. Крістал, А. Еліс та інші. Отримані результати: Семантична деривація це створення нових сем від одного вихідного слова. Процес розвитку нового семантичного значення найчастіше відбувається за допомогою метафоричного і метонімічного перенесення значення, конкретизації, генералізації, пейорації та амеліорації. Діалекти мають спільні з літературною мовою механізми та тенденції розвитку словникового складу, але й відрізняються від неї. Крім того, загальновідомо, що зазвичай еволюція літературної мови йде за рахунок впливу маргінальних форм існування мови, до яких також належать діалекти. Семантична деривація є універсальним джерелом нових позначень та має значний вплив на словниковий склад нортумбрійського діалекту. В ході дослідження семантичного розвитку лексичних одиниць нортумбрійського діалекту, були виявлені продуктивні способи його розвитку.
