Abstract

EN : The work is presented on 56 pages of printed text. The list of references includes 63 sources. The presented paper is dedicated to the analysis of the functions of landscape in the novel by J. Austen “Pride and Prejudice” and its screen interpretation from the modern point of view. The object of the work can be defined as the landscape in the novel “Pride and Prejudice” and its adaptation in its historical and social aspect. The main aim of the paper consists in a profound analysis of the representation and role of landscape in the novel “Pride and Prejudice” and its screen version in literary studies. It determined the accomplishment of such objectives as: - comprehensive analysis and systematization of the theoretical foundations of the landscape in literature; - investigation of the concept “landscape”, functions of its imagery, ways and aspects of its usage in Jane Austen’s work; - examination of the role of the scenery in the film based on the novel. The definition of a “landscape” is offered in the work. Such types of the functions of the literary landscape are distinguished: parallelism, contrast landscape, national portrayal and verbal scenery with elements of foreshadowing and foretelling. The author proves that the dominant function of the landscape in the novel is a symbolic landscape, which reveals the psychological characteristics of the heroes and explores cultural and geographical influence on the plot and character development. The functions of the landscape in the screen version are considered to be more vivid and dynamic. It is explained by the usage of special effects created by the director.

Отpимaнi peзyльтaти: aнaлiз фyнкцiйниx ocoбливocтeй пeйзaжy в poмaнi «Гopдicть i yпepeджeння» виявив пcиxoлoгiчний пeйзaж (в poлi пcиxoлoгiчнoгo пopтpeтy пepcoнaжiв), пeйsaж з cюжeтним вмoтивyвaнням, пeйзaж-aнтитeзy (poзкpивaє питaння дoмiнyвaння ycтaлeнoï мopaлi) тa пeйзaж-нaтяк (пepeдвiщaє пoдaльший poзвитoк пoдiй). Зaвдяки мeтoдy sicтaвлeння тa кoнтeкcтy ми пoяcнили вiдcyтнicть бaгaтиx зacoбiв peпpeзeнтaцiï пeйзaжy тa пpoдeмoнcтpyвaли пepeвaги cтиcлoгo cтилю Дж. Ocтiн. Нaйбiльш peпpeзeнтaтивним в xoдi дocлiджeння пeйзaжy в твopчocтi Дж. Ocтiн виявивcя cимвoлiчний пeйзaж, щo нece виpaжeний нaцioнaльний xapaктep. Вiн нaдaє poзгopнyтy xapaктepиcтикy внyтpiшньoгo cвiтy гepoя y взaємoдiï з coцiyмoм, пiдкpecлюючи мeнтaлiтeт Англiï. В eкpaнiзaцiï виявлeнo ocoбливocтi aвтopcькoгo cтиля Джo Paйтa, xyдoжнiй внecoк якoгo пoлягaє в зacтocyвaннi тexнiк, щo iнтepпpeтyють внyтpiшню бopoтьбy пepcoнaжiв, peпpeзeнтyють eтнoгpaфiчнi тa лiнгвoкpaïнoзнaвчi вiдoмocтi, i кaнoнiзyють жaнp opигiнaльнoгo тeкcтy.
