Головню ідеєю дослідження є встановлення, як військовий конфлікт, а саме російська агресія проти України, вплинула на формування національного самовизначення, психологічного перелому з співставленням власного «Я», як належного певній локальній території, на розуміння власної участі у великому національно-етнічному формуванні. Наприклад, до війни люди Південного регіону не ідентифікували себе як окрему від російської націю, було багато сфер в яких прохолодило співіснування: культура, мистецтво, економіка, наука і т.п. Проте вже починаючи з 2014 року, та після повномасштабного вторгнення після 24 лютого 2022 року, жителі регіону поступово почали ідентифікувати себе українцями і відокремлюватися від всього, що може стосуватися агресора. Наукова новизна одержаних результатів досліження полягає в тому, що проаналізовано зміни в психологічному сприйнятті населенням Південної України себе і свого місця в загальноукраїнських процесах в умовах військових конфліктів.

The object of the study is the psychological evolution of the national self-knowledge of the population of Southern Ukraine under the influence of the events of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The main idea of the study is to establish how the military conflict, namely the Russian aggression against Ukraine, influenced the formation of national self-determination, a psychological break with the comparison of one's own "I" as belonging to a certain local territory, and the understanding of one's own participation in the great national-ethnic formation. For example, before the war, the people of the Southern region did not identify themselves as a separate nation from Russia, there were many areas in which coexistence cooled: culture, art, economy, science, etc. However, starting from 2014, and after the full-scale invasion after February 24, 2022, the residents of the region gradually began to identify themselves as Ukrainians and to separate themselves from everything that could be related to the aggressor. The scientific novelty of the obtained research results lies in the fact that the changes in the psychological perception of the population of Southern Ukraine about themselves and their place in the all-Ukrainian processes in the conditions of military conflicts were analyzed.
