Об’єктами дослідження були медичні п’явки (МП) після годування кров’ю ссавців (в посттрофічний період). Матеріалом для дослідження були гістологічні зрізи МП після годування кров’ю ссавців при різних фізіологічних станах. Метою роботи є дослідження основних структурно-функціональних особливостей МП виду Hirudo verbana після годування кров’ю ссавців.
Методи дослідження: гістологічні, статистичні.
Встановлено, що більша частина МП добре переносить годування кров’ю ссавців, але деякі з них патологічно реагують на годування до 10% особин, що проявляється відригуванням спожитої крові, появою перетяжок на тілі та загибеллю частини МП. В ході нормального перебігу посттрофічного періоду ботріоідна тканина (БТ) МП має підвищену васкуляризацію, що супроводжується подальшою активацією ботріоідних гранулоцитів, кишковий епітелій (КЕ) середньої кишки має сплощену форму через розтягнення спожитою кров’ю. При патологічному перебігу посттрофічного періоду, що є результатом розвитку імунологічного конфлікту, спостерігаються деструктивні процеси в кишковому епітелії та відбувається значна активація БТ.
Новизна роботи: доповнено дані щодо структурно-функціональних особливостей МП при фізіологічному та патологічному перебігу посттрофічного періоду.
Практичне значення – отримані результати можна використовувати для оцінки структурно-функціонального стану МП після годування кров’ю ссавців.

The subjects were medical leeches (ML) after feeding on the blood of mammals (in the posttrophic period). The material for the study was histological sections of ML after feeding the blood of mammals in different physiological conditions. The purpose of the work is to study the main structural and functional characteristics of the ML Hirudo verbana species of after feeding with mammalian blood.
Methods of research: histological, statistical.
It has been found that most ML tolerate mammalian blood feeding well, but some of them react pathologically to the feeding up to 10% of individuals, which is manifested by belching of consumed blood, the appearance of constrictions on the body and the death of some ML. During the normal course of the posttrophic period, the botryoid tissue of the ML has increased vascularization, which is accompanied by further activation of the botryoidal granulocytes, the intestinal epithelium (IE) of the midgut has a flattened shape due to stretching of the consumed blood. In the pathological course of the posttrophic period, which is the result of the development of immunological conflict, destructive processes in the intestinal epithelium are observed and there is a significant activation of botryoid tissue.
Novelty of the work: the data on the structural and functional characteristics of ML in the physiological and pathological course of the posttrophic period have been supplemented.
Practical value ‒ the obtained results can be used to assess the structural and functional state of ML after feeding the blood of mammals.
