Вербалізація оцінного значення суб'єктивної модальності в сучасній англійській мові

Abstract

UA : Робота викладена на 58 сторінках друкованого тексту. Перелік посилань включає 76 джерел. Об’єкт дослідження: суб’єктивна модальність в сучасній англійській мові Мета роботи: дослідження засобів вираження категорії суб’єктивної модальності в сучасній англійській мові. Теоретико-методологічні засади: дослідження модальних значень здійснено з різних позицій: семантики і прагматики (В. В. Козловський, І. В. Смущинська, В. В. Сухомлин), синтаксису (Ш. Баллі, В. В. Виноградов, Н. Ю Шведова), граматики (В. Г. Адмоні, Т. І. Дешерієва, К. О. Крашеніннікова), логіки і філософії (Дж. Лайонз, Р. Квірк, Ф. Пальмер, М. Халлідей, Б. Хейл). Отримані результати: домінуючим компонентом поділу суб’єктивної модальності і на семантичні групи виступає оцінка. Серед семантичних груп суб’єктивної модальності можна виділити три: суб’єктивна модальність зі значенням негативності (заперечення, непогодження, заборона, відмова, незгода, несхвалення, спростування, прокляття тощо); суб’єктивна модальність зі значенням нейтральності (байдужість, незацікавленість, індиферентність, апатія тощо); суб’єктивна модальність зі значенням позитивності (солідарність, підтримка, похвала, погодження, комплімент, підтвердження, звеличення, згода, люб’язність тощо).

EN : The work is presented on 58 pages of printed text. The list of references includes 76 sources. The presented paper is dedicated to the analysis of such a topical problem as subjective modality in modern English. The object of the work can be defined as the category of subjective modality in modern English. The main aim of the paper consists in expression of the category of subjective modality in modern English. It determined the accomplishment of such objectives as: - definition of the term "modality"; - theoretical and methodological basis of the study of subjective modality in modern linguistics; - semantic groups and meanings of subjective modality; - investigation of the pragmatics of modal evaluative values. The research of modal meanings of the presented research lies in different fields: semantic and pragmatic (V.V. Kozlovsky, I.V. Smushchinskay, V.V. Sukhomlin), syntax (Sh. Balli, V.V. Vinogradov, N. Yu. Shvedova), grammar (V.G. Admoni, T.I. Desherieva, K.O. Krasheninnikov), logic and philosophy (R. Quirk, J. Lyons, F. Palmer, M. Halliday, B. Hale). The dominant component of the division of subjective modality and semantic groups is the evaluation. The semantic groups of subjective modality can be divided into: subjective modality with the meaning of negativity (warning, uncertainty, prohibition, refusal, disagreement, disapproval, refutation, curse, etc.); subjective modality with the meaning of neutrality (indifference, disinterest, individuality, apathy, etc.); subjective modality with the meaning of positivity (solidarity, support, praise, agreement, compliment, confirmation, increase, consent, kindness, etc.).
