EN : The work is presented on 52 pages of printed text. The list of references includes 64 sources. The presented paper is dedicated to the analysis of such a topical problem of
linguistics as the semantic field, namely, leisure.
The object of the work can be defined as the sematic field "leisure" in the
Northumbrian dialect of the English language.
The aim of the research is to model the lexical-semantic field of "leisure" in
the Northumbrian dialect of British English.
The results obtained: the concept of the field principle of the systemic
organization of linguistic phenomena is a highly significant achievement of the
linguistic endeavors in the XX century.
Dialect, as a special form of the existence of a language, is characterized by
specific features that affect the nature of systemic links in its vocabulary compared
to the standard language. In particular, the lexical-semantic field in dialects is
fragmentary. The presence or absence of certain lexemes in the lexical system of
dialects testifies their regional significance, because they actualize socio-regional
identity and verbalize socio-regional realities that reflect the regional identity of
the inhabitants of certain territories, the materials of their spiritual culture, the
peculiarity of their worldview and the environment in which they live.
