Abstract

EN : The work is presented on 56 pages of printed text. The list of references includes 57 sources. The presented paper is dedicated to the analysis of the manifestation of the linguistic and cultural aspect of British humor in the work "The Posthumous Notes of the Pickwick Club" by Charles Dickens. The object of the work can be defined as the research of the features of the linguistic and cultural aspect of humor in the novel by Charles Dickens " The Posthumous Notes of the Pickwick Club". The main aim of the paper is to find and analyse the features of the linguistic and cultural aspect of humor in the novel by Charles Dickens "The Posthumous Notes of the Pickwick Club". It determined the accomplishment of such objectives as: – to defined the concept of "humor" in modern culturology; – to identify the comic effects in the novel "The Posthumous Notes of the Pickwick Club”. Among the most significant cultural concepts in the English national picture of the world is humor. The ability to laugh in Britain has been cultivated for centuries as one of the most important human virtues. The British are proud of their sense of humor and rightly consider it a national treasure. The English Literature is full of humor, most English writers are masters of the comic effects. The scientific novelty of the presented research is due to the fact that the specificity of British humor has always been of great importance. Built on a play on words, it is designed to preserve the dignity and high culture of language, veiledly laughing at the modern world.

Теоретико-методологічні засади: Питанням лінгвокультурологічного аспекту гумору в британській літературі присвячені праці таких вітчизняних і зарубіжних методистів (И. Вержинская, А. Ефимов, А. Зализняк, Т. Ивушкина, М. Кулинич, А. Лук, Д. Николаев та ін.). Отримані результати: обраний роман Ч. Діккенса якнайкраще підходить для того, щоб уявити та проаналізувати особливості британського гумору, а також виявити частоту використання методів створення комічного та особливості гумору самого письменника. Джерело реалізму письменника полягало у його баченні світу очима звичайної людини, відкидаючи привілеї; а джерело фантазії – у співчутті та вірі в людину, непримиренності до гноблення та злиднів, переконаність гуманіста у здатності людини змінити світ, змінивши насамперед себе.
