Якщо ж звернутися від цього «горизонтального» виміру до «вертикальному» - змінюють один одного років життя, то і тут ми побачимо низку подій, обставин, ситуацій, що становлять і утворюють загальний життєвий шлях людини.Серед безлічі цих ситуацій особливо виділяються ті, які можна позначити як критичні життєві ситуації. Під ними психологи зазвичай розуміють значимі проблемні або важкі ситуації, що вимагають дозволу або подолання; при цьому маються на увазі не звичні ситуації, які б проблеми або труднощі вони ні містили (оскільки вони є повторюваними, ми і використовуємо для них звичні способи подолання), а ті, які вимагають пошуку нового рішення, виходу або незвичних ресурсів їх проживання. Наукова новизна: Нами було виявлено смисложиттєві орієнтації, рівень самооцінки, рівень суб'єктивного контролю жінок середнього віку і на цій основі було проведено порівняльний аналіз зазначених особистісних особливостей у різних групах.

The object of research are psychological factors of overcoming critical life situations. In everyday life a person deals with different situations. At work and at home, on a visit and at a concert - during the day we move from one situation to another, the totality of which forms our living space. If we turn from this "horizontal" dimension to the "vertical" - changing each other years of life, then here we see a number of events, circumstances, situations that constitute and form the general way of life. Among the many of these situations stand out can be described as critical life situations. Psychologists usually understand them as significant problematic or difficult situations that require resolution or overcoming; this does not mean habitual situations, whatever problems or difficulties they may contain (because they are recurring, we use the usual ways to overcome them), but those that require finding a new solution, solution or unusual resources for their residence. Scientific novelty: We identified the meaning of life orientations, the level of self-esteem, the level of subjective control of middle-aged women and on this basis was a comparative analysis of these personality traits in different groups.
