Англомовна термінологія сталеливарного виробництва та специфіка її перекладу українською мовою

Abstract

UA : Об'єктом дослідження є терміносистема сталеливарної індустрії англійською та українською мовами.Мета роботи: визначення структурно-семантичних особливостей термінів сталеливарного виробництва в англійській мові та специфіки їх перекладу українською мовою.Теоретико-методологічні засади: теоретичні положення термінознавства та науково-технічного перекладу, розроблені Н.Абабіловою, В. Білокамінською, Л. Азаровою, Л. Білозерською, Л. Радецькою, А. Д’яковом,Т. Кияком, З. Куделько, О. Мунтян; особливості перекладу сталеливарної термінології, визначені Л. Черноватим, В.Карабаном, Л. Мосієвич. Отримані результати засвідчили складну структуру термінів сталеливарного виробництва, яка відображає технологічну специфіку галузі та забезпечує точність професійної комунікації. Найпродуктивнішими виявилися кореневі слова, похідна лексика, складні слова та терміни-словосполучення. Запропонована класифікація термінів на вісім основних лексико-семантичних груп – «Матеріали», «Технологічні процеси», «Властивості сировини та продукції», «Обладнання», «Продукція», «Професійна діяльність», «Екологічний вплив» та «Економіка» – сприяє систематизації та зручності використання термінології. Аналіз способів перекладу показав, що вибір прийому залежить від семантики, структури терміна та контексту. Основні способи включають словникові відповідники, транскодування, калькування, контекстуальні заміни, смисловий розвиток, антонімічний і описовий переклади.EN : This paper examines English terms used in the steelmaking industry and explores the specifics of their translation into Ukrainian. Object of research: English terminology as employed in professional texts on metallurgy. Main aim: to analyze the structural and semantic features of steelmaking terms in contemporary English and their representation in Ukrainian translation. It determined the accomplishment of the following objectives: 1) to examine the terminology of the steel industry, its role and place in terminology studies; 2) to identify the main stages in the development of terminology in Ukraine; 3) to outline the challenges associated with using specialized dictionaries; 4) to investigate the structural features of steel industry terms; 5) to establish productive word-formation models for the studied terms; 6) to define semantic groups characteristic of steel industry terminology; 7) to analyze the peculiarities of reproducing English steel industry terms in Ukrainian and identify productive translation methods.The findings highlight the complex structure of steelmaking terminology, reflecting the field's technological specificity and enabling precise professional communication. The most productive structures include root words, derivatives,compound words, and multi-component terms. Terms are classified into eight lexico-semantic groups: Materials, Technological Processes, Properties of Raw Materials and Products, Equipment, Products, Professional Activities, Environmental Impact, and Economics. This classification supports systematization and practical use in professional contexts. The analysis of translation methods reveals that the choice of approach is significantly influenced by the term’s semantics, structure, and context. It identifies the following primary translation methods: dictionary equivalents, transcoding, calquing, contextual replacements, semantic development, antonymic translation, and descriptive translation.
