Abstract
EN : The work is presented on 76 pages of printed text, contains 4 tables, 3 appendices. The list of references includes 52 sources. The object of the study is family relations in wartime. During socio-demographic upheavals, in particular war, serious changes occur in the living conditions of the population, which significantly affects social institutions, in particular the family. This leads to a revision of the hierarchy of its functions and directs them to the preservation of the social order and human potential. The family, as the main social institution, is under the powerful influence of war and the destructive processes that it brings with it. It is the family that is the main source of support for the vital activity of society in such critical conditions. In the pre-war years, family development in Ukraine had much in common with other European countries: the variety of forms of family life and marital relations, the increase in the age of marriage and childbirth, the growth of extramarital birth rates coexisted with a relatively high level of marriage and the preservation of family solidarity of generations. The family structure had all the signs of modern society: the predominance of nuclear families (simple and extended) with gradual changes in the structure - the number of single-parent, restructured, transnational families, as well as families where the marriage union is not officially registered, was growing. Over the past twenty years, Ukrainian families have faced serious challenges, including: instability of marriages, high divorce rates, the prevalence of one-child families, failure of some families to fulfill parental responsibilities, which led to the problem of social orphanhood, a large proportion of single-parent families (in 2021, 17.9% of families with children did not have one or both parents), as well as unresolved gender issues in family life. Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022, stopped the natural development of the Ukrainian family, radically changing the conditions of its existence, exacerbating existing problems and causing new threats. The mass death of military personnel and civilians, forced migrations both within the country and beyond its borders led to deformations and partial destabilization of the demographic and socio-economic situation. In these extremely difficult conditions, it is necessary to clearly identify the risks for the Ukrainian family as the basis of society, as well as its role in this extreme context, because the war affected the mental and emotional health of every Ukrainian. Fear, depression, apathy, mood swings, obsessive thoughts became part of the lives of those who survived the horrors of war, and these experiences inevitably affect family relationships. The scientific novelty lies in the systematization and generalization of scientific research on family relationships during war, the selection of a group of methods for conducting research on factors that affect the stability of family relationships during war.
