Abstract
EN : The work is presented on 79 pages, printed text, 9 tables, 1 appendix. The list of references includes 50 sources. The object of the study: psychological features of the adaptation of internally displaced persons to new living conditions. The full-scale Russian invasion of 2022 caused an unprecedented internal displacement crisis in Ukraine, which in terms of its scale and psychological consequences has no analogues in modern European history. As of July 2025, about 3.7 million people remain internally displaced within Ukraine (UNHCR, 2025), which is almost 10% of the country's pre-war population. Forced displacement is accompanied by multiple psychological traumas: loss of familiar living space, destruction of social ties, professional maladjustment, chronic stress, and uncertainty about the future. The problem becomes particularly acute in the context of the duration of the conflict and the need for long-term adaptation of internally displaced persons in new communities. The success of adaptation processes is determined by the complex interaction of individual psychological characteristics, coping strategies used, satisfaction of basic psychological needs and socio-economic conditions in host communities. Understanding these mechanisms is critically important for the development of effective programs of psychological support and social integration of internally displaced persons. The scientific novelty lies in the comprehensive empirical study of the relationship between the level of anxiety, coping strategies and satisfaction of basic psychological needs as factors of adaptation of internally displaced persons in the conditions of modern social challenges, as well as in the development and testing of a training program aimed at reducing the level of anxiety.
