Abstract
EN : The paper is presented on 47 pages, contains 6 tables and 4 figures, and is based on the analysis of 45 literature sources. Relevance of the Topic. In modern conditions of hunting management in Ukraine, the conservation and rational use of ungulate populations (hoofed animals), such as deer, roe deer, and wild boar, are of particular importance. Intensive anthropogenic pressure, climate change, reduction of natural habitats, and military actions negatively affect the number and condition of these species. Biotechnical measures are an important tool for regulating animal populations, improving their living conditions, and ensuring reproduction. Under current conditions, assessing the effectiveness of such measures in different natural and climatic regions of Ukraine is of particular relevance. Purpose of the Study. To evaluate the effectiveness of biotechnical measures for ungulate animals in the central and south-eastern regions of Ukraine and to determine their impact on population status. Objectives of the Study: 1. To characterize the natural conditions of the central and south-eastern regions of Ukraine. 2. To identify the main types of biotechnical measures in hunting farms. 3. To analyze the impact of these measures on the number and condition of ungulate populations. 4. To assess the effectiveness of these measures under different natural and climatic conditions. 5. To identify problems and prospects for their improvement. Object of the Study Populations of ungulate animals in hunting grounds of the central and south-eastern regions of Ukraine. Research Methods: analysis of scientific literature and legal/regulatory sources; comparative geographical method; statistical analysis; field observations (conditional); generalization and systematization of data. Scientific Novelty. The scientific novelty of the study lies in a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of biotechnical measures for ungulate animals, taking into account the natural and climatic differences between the central and south-eastern regions of Ukraine. The paper generalizes approaches to the application of biotechnical measures in forest-steppe and steppe zones, identifies differences in their effectiveness depending on environmental conditions, and substantiates the need for a differentiated approach to hunting management. Special attention is paid to the role of supplementary feeding, water supply, and the creation of protective habitats in maintaining population stability in arid regions.
