Abstract
EN : The qualification work consists of 115 pages, contains 57 sources, 100 monographs and articles. Саtegories аnd сonсepts: museum network of Ukraine, museum narrative, Russian-Ukrainian war, historical memory. The research object of master's thesis: the museum network of Ukraine. The subject of the research work: transformation of the museum network of Ukraine in 2014-2024 in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The aim of the research: to comprehensively study the quantitative and qualitative changes and mechanisms in the museum network of Ukraine during 2014-2024 world, state and public projects aimed at protecting the historical and cultural heritage of Ukraine. Sсientifiс novelty аnd theoretiсаl signifiсаnсe the study is a comprehensive study of transformations in the museum network of Ukraine during the period of socio-political changes in 2014-2024; analysis of the role of the state, civil society, international humanitarian organizations in the preservation and restoration, recording of Russian war crimes against historical and cultural heritage through museum projects implemented by them. Prасtiсаl signifiсаnсe: the research is of a recommendatory nature and can be used by representatives of central and regional authorities and NGOs for decommunization and de-Russification in public, private, and community museums; as material for reflections, presentations, and lectures on museum issues for museum workers, museum historians, and stakeholders involved in the cultural sphere of Ukraine; for conducting museum lessons and improving museum work in educational institutions, conducting special courses, seminars, conferences, and roundtables. Сonсlusions: Аs а result of the сonduсted sсientifiс reseаrсh, we mаde the following сonсlusions: 1. Despite the large number of scientific works, there are practically no works that comprehensively summarize the issues of the transformation of the museum network of Ukraine during the period of socio-political changes of 2014-2024. We wrote our paper following the following principles: the principle of historicism, the principle of objectivity, and the value approach. We conducted our research using the following methods: content analysis, event analysis, historical-systemic, historical-comparative, and historical-typological. 2. In the period after the Revolution of Dignity and the beginning of the recent Russian-Ukrainian war, there has been an increase in the number of museums. The newly created museums are dominated by public institutions dedicated to preserving the memory of contemporary events. The mission of these institutions is informational - to draw public attention to the events of the war, to help Ukrainian defenders; to preserve the memory of soldiers about the Russian-Ukrainian war; to honor the defenders of Ukraine by the community. The newly created museums have a thematic and regional specificity: private museums devoted to local history prevail in the western Ukrainian region; in the north and southeast, local museums devoted to Ukrainian culture and life of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. 3. In Ukrainian museums, the processes of decommunization and de-Russification were expressed in the opening of ghetto parks and museums of Soviet life; renaming of major museums to overcome the imperial model of memory; clearing regional museums of the vestiges of Soviet propaganda and focusing on debunking historical myths; and removing Russian cultural markers from museum names and exhibitions. A positive consequence of decommunization was the overcoming of regionalism and the conflict of historical memories. 4. During the recent Russian-Ukrainian war, Ukrainian museums are fulfilling a social mission by helping the military and civilians. They act as volunteer hubs: museums are used to raise funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and to provide social and psychological integration of internally displaced persons by organizing museum workshops, excursions, and charity exhibitions. 5. After the annexation of Crimea and the outbreak of the latest Russian-Ukrainian war, Ukraine's museum network became a subject of the “War of Memories” and at the same time an object of a conscientious objection war, which aims to destroy the system of values, established mechanisms of self-identification and replace them with simulacra, leading to the erosion of the historical and cultural memory of society, its neuroticization and deprivation of subjectivity. The museum network is suffering from unprecedented and targeted destruction of museums by the enemy; looting of museum collections through re-registration of museum institutions in the occupied territories and export of collections to the territory of the LPR, Crimea and Russia; transformation of museums and memorial space in the temporarily occupied territories according to Russian standards, through the imposition of “new/old” ideologies about “common history”, “Novorossiya”, “invincibility” of Russian weapons. We have analyzed international and domestic projects to preserve historical and cultural heritage since the beginning of the recent Russian-Ukrainian war and Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The study of the peculiarities of de-Russification and restoration of Ukrainian to preserve historical and cultural heritage since the beginning of the recent Russian-Ukrainian war and the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia could be a way forward.
