Abstract
EN : Master's qualification work: «Radiation Resistance of Nanomaterials in a Linear Accelerator»: 67 pages, 17 figures, 14 references. Object of research: the process of radiation impact on nanomaterials of structural elements of a linear accelerator. Purpose of the work: to analyze the physical mechanisms of radiation damage in nanostructured materials and to assess their resistance to high-energy electron and photon radiation in a medical linear accelerator; to investigate the radiation resistance of nanomaterials under exposure to ionizing radiation in a medical linear accelerator; and to determine possibilities for improving their stability and efficiency for use in radiation therapy. Research methods: analytical and theoretical approaches, modeling, comparative analysis, and generalization of experimental data. Scientific novelty of the work lies in the study of the mechanisms of radiation degradation of tungsten under linear accelerator operating conditions, based on a computational-analytical analysis of experimental data obtained during irradiation of tungsten collimators and presented in contemporary scientific sources. Based on the analysis of the physical-mechanical and radiation properties of the material, data on the effectiveness of tungsten use in the collimating systems of linear accelerators have been summarized. The feasibility of using nanostructured tungsten as a promising material for collimators with enhanced radiation resistance has also been substantiated. Practical significance of the study lies in the fact that the obtained results can be used in the selection of materials to increase the durability of linear accelerator components, as well as in the design of new radiation-resistant components based on nanostructured materials.
