Abstract
EN : The work is presented on 103 pages, printed text, 1 figure, 6 tables, 3 appendices. The list of references includes 63 sources. The object of the study: codependent relationships in adulthood. In modern society, interpersonal relationships play a key role in a person’s psychological well-being. The quality of interaction with the environment significantly affects the level of emotional comfort, self-realization and general psychological state. However, not all relationships are harmonious and mutually enriching. In some cases, codependency is formed - a state in which one person completely subordinates his life to another, losing personal boundaries and independence. Codependency can manifest itself at any age, but it is especially acute in adulthood, when social status, the structure of interpersonal relationships change and the need for stability arises. Codependent relationships significantly affect the psychological state of the individual, leading to emotional exhaustion, increased anxiety, decreased self-esteem and the risk of developing psychosomatic diseases. A person in such a relationship is characterized by a loss of autonomy, the inability to make independent decisions and a constant orientation towards a partner or another significant person. This can negatively affect professional activity, social contacts and the general level of life satisfaction. Of particular importance in the study of codependency is its gender aspect. Men and women can demonstrate different models of codependent behavior, which is due to both biological and sociocultural factors. Traditional ideas about gender roles shape different styles of behavior in relationships: women are more likely to be self-sacrificing, overprotective and seeking to “save” their partner, while men may show codependency due to a desire for dominance, control and responsibility for the well-being of another person. Scientific novelty of the study: a comprehensive analysis of gender characteristics of codependent relationships in adulthood was conducted, taking into account psychological, sociocultural and age aspects; gender differences in manifestations of codependent behavior were established, characteristic behavioral patterns and factors that contribute to its formation in men and women in adulthood were identified; a comparative analysis of codependent relationships was conducted using mathematical statistics methods, which allowed empirically confirming the existence of gender differences in the structure of codependent relationships.
