Abstract
EN : The work is presented on 93 pages of printed text, contains 2 figures, 14 tables. The list of references includes 30 sources. The object of the study: obsessive-compulsive disorder in women. Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is one of the most common disorders today. OCD is characterized by intrusive thoughts (obsessions) or intrusive actions (compulsions), and most often their combination (80%). According to epidemiological studies, an average of 2.5% of people have OCD during their lifetime, that is, every forty-something person. This is a “young” disorder: its debut occurs mainly in late adolescence and young adulthood, however, in the absence of proper help, OCD can take on a chronic, lifelong course and significantly disable a person’s life. The medical and social consequences of obsessive-compulsive disorder include chronicity, severity of social distress, decreased work capacity and quality of life. Obsessive-compulsive disorder is most often caused by psychological factors and requires psychotherapeutic treatment. Obsessive-compulsive disorder is more common among women, which is due to their physiological and psychological characteristics.
