Abstract
EN : In the context of modern global transformations and growing information challenges, political myths are gaining particular importance as a tool for influencing mass consciousness and shaping political reality. This process becomes particularly intense in wartime, when society is in a state of heightened emotional tension, uncertainty, and the need for semantic guidelines. In such conditions, political myths serve as an important mechanism for interpreting events, mobilizing citizens, and consolidating the nation. The full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022, significantly transformed political discourse and led to the intensification of myth-making processes. A wide range of new mythologies associated with heroism, sacrifice, struggle, national unity, and the image of the enemy have formed in public consciousness. At the same time, previously existing political narratives are being rethought, transformed, or deconstructed. In this context, the study of the features of the formation of political myths in Ukraine acquires not only theoretical, but also practical significance, as it allows for a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of influence on public opinion and political behavior. Problematic situation: the presence of a contradiction between the growing role of political myths in the formation of public consciousness in wartime and the insufficient level of their comprehensive scientific understanding in the Ukrainian context. On the one hand, political myths act as an effective tool for mobilization, consolidation of society and support of national identity, especially in conditions of military confrontation. On the other hand, they can become manipulative, distort reality and influence the political behavior of citizens in a way that does not always correspond to democratic values and principles of critical thinking.
