С. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”.
(M. Noll, M. Edwards, Ch. Moorman, A. Johnson).
С. Льюїса “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” виявило відмінності у зображенні героїв реального та казкового світу.
EN : The presented paper is dedicated to analyzing the topic of psychologism in fiction. The object of the study is the manifestation of psychologism in literary works. The paper's main aim is to identify and analyze the distinctive features of psychologism in C. S. Lewis’s novel “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to accomplish the following objectives : - an in-depth analysis and systematization of the theoretical foundations of psychologism in literary studies (V. Fashchenko, M. Kodak); - investigation of psychological motifs in modernist literature (N. V. Bokhun, O. M. Danylchuk, L. M. Kozubenko, M. V. Moklytsia, T. Muvvafak, A. P. Tsaruk); - analysis of C. S. Lewis’s works through philosophical, religious, and mythological aspects (M. Noll, M. Edwards, Ch. Moorman, A. Johnson). The research on the psychologization of characters in “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” revealed key differences in character psychologization: real-world figures are depicted through actions, speech, and emotions, while magical characters serve an archetypal role, expressed through symbolism, mythological motifs, and metaphorical imagery. Two main forms of psychologization were distinguished: indirect and summative-mediated. The analysis demonstrated that psychologization in the novel is achieved through an emphasis on artistic details such as the wardrobe, the lamppost, the eternal winter, the golden-maned lion, the Turkish delight, the sword, the magic horn, the marmalade roll, and the Stone Table.
