Поезія А. Теннісона у світлі сучасних ґендерних досліджень

Abstract

UA : Дипломна робота – 73 стор., 79 джерел Об’єкт дослідження: поезія Альфреда Теннісона в контексті ґендерного аналізу. Мета роботи: з’ясувати специфіку репрезентації ґендерних стереотипів вікторіанського суспільства у збірці поезій “Idylls of the King” А. Теннісона. Теоретико-методологічні засади: ключові положення феміністської критики та ґендерної теорії (С. Бовуар, Е. Шоуолтер, Дж. Кристева, Г. Сіксу, Башкирова О, Армстронг І) у поєднанні з ідеями класичної поетики (Арістотель, Платон) і сучасного підходу до культурної критики (Е. Грос, Т. Мой). Отримані результати: Аналіз поезії Альфреда Теннісона дозволив виявити домінантні ґендерні уявлення вікторіанської епохи. Виокремлено дві моделі: традиційно-патріархальну, що базується на усталених стереотипах, та прогресивну, яка через символіку та образи демонструє пошуки нових соціальних ролей. Особливу увагу приділено аналізу чоловічих та жіночих образів, які стереотипно відповідають ідеалам мужності та жіночності відповідно. У творах Теннісона представлено конфлікти між соціальними очікуваннями та внутрішніми переживаннями персонажів, які відображають складність ґендерних взаємин, а також зафіксовано певні зрушення у традиційній ґендерній парадигмі віторіанства.EN : The presented paper analyzes Alfred Tennyson's poetry collection “Idylls of the King” through the lens of gender analysis. The object of the research is Alfred Tennyson's poetic legacy, with a focus on “Idylls of the King”. The purpose of the study is to explore how gender stereotypes of Victorian society are represented in Tennyson’s poetry. This aim involves: - analyzing the evolution of gender studies and their application in literature; - examining Victorian literature through gender theory; - identifying Tennyson’s poetic style in gender representation; - exploring male and female characters in Idylls of the King with respect to the chivalric code, masculinity, and femininity; - investigating the reception of Tennyson’s poetry from a gender perspective. The theoretical basis combines feminist criticism and gender studies (S. de Beauvoir, E. Showalter, J. Kristeva, H. Cixous, O. Bashkyrova, I. Armstrong), classical poetics (Aristotle, Plato), and modern cultural criticism (E. Grosz, T. Moi). The analysis of Alfred Tennyson's poetry revealed two dominant gender models of the Victorian era: the traditional one, based on patriarchal stereotypes, and the progressive one, which, through symbolism and imagery, reflects the search for new social roles. Particular attention is given to the stereotypical male and female characters that illustrate the conflict between societal expectations and the internal struggles of individuals, indicating gradual shifts in the Victorian gender paradigm.
