Abstract
EN : The work is presented on 66 pages of printed text, contains 4 tables, 1 appendix. The list of references includes 65 sources. The object of the study is coping strategies for overcoming stress. Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukraine has suffered enormous losses both at the state level and at the level of each individual citizen. According to available data, as of the beginning of 2024, “since the beginning of the full-scale Russian military invasion, the total amount of direct damage to residential and non-residential real estate, other infrastructure, vehicles and inventories exceeded $157 billion. The largest share in the total amount of direct damage was caused to residential buildings, namely 37.5% or $58.9 billion.” “According to data as of the beginning of 2024, as a result of the hostilities of the Russian Federation, more than 50% of the housing stock in a significant number of cities and towns was damaged or destroyed.” The number of damaged residential buildings is growing daily due to the continuation of active hostilities in the territories of Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kherson regions, the temporary occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine, as well as the use of regular missile and artillery shelling, which are part of the tactics of the aggressor country’s hostilities. As we can see from the above data, even the potential threat of property loss causes stress and nervousness among the population of Ukraine. Stress is one of the most common types of affect in our days, which is a state of prolonged and excessively strong psychological tension that occurs in a person as a result of emotional overload of the nervous system. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the comprehensive analysis of the socio-psychological characteristics of internally displaced persons and a deeper understanding of the phenomenon of stress in wartime. For the first time, the peculiarities of coping strategies of Ukrainians who lost their homes due to shelling and occupation have been identified, and practical recommendations based on the ADAPT model have been developed.
