EN : The present paper explores the axiological features of evaluative vocabulary within different stylistic registers in modern English. The study aims to classify, analyze, and interpret the functional and semantic specificity of words and expressions that carry explicit or implicit evaluative meaning across formal, colloquial, and subcolloquial speech varieties. The first chapter outlines the theoretical and linguistic foundations of evaluation in language. The paper distinguishes between meliorative (positive) and pejorative (negative) lexical units, identifying their most common markers and syntactic realizations. This part also reinforces the idea of cognitive influence known as linguistic manipulation by examining the examples. The second chapter focuses on the stylistic variability of evaluative expressions. The analysis demonstrates that high-register evaluative vocabulary is characterized by logical precision, lexical neutrality, and functional abstraction, used in academic, publicist, and official discourse. In contrast, colloquial and subcolloquial lexicon rely heavily on emotional expressiveness, syntactic compression, and cognitive perception. Colloquial evaluatives are frequently metaphoric, reflecting everyday interactions in social media. Subcolloquial evaluation is marked by graphical emphasis and use of semi-censored abbreviations such as WTF, AF, IDGAF, or LMFAO. These units act not only as tools of affective expression but also as cultural identifiers and discursive tactics of protest, sarcasm, or self-irony. They are widespread in youth slang, digital media and online dialogues, where expressive function outweighs grammatical correctness or stylistic restraint. Overall, the research confirms that evaluative vocabulary in modern English operates as a dynamic system, which reflects not only the emotional attitudes of the speaker but also broader social, cultural, and media-related factors.
